The Member Specialist (Bank Teller) is primarily responsible for meeting or exceeding members’ expectations by acting as the members’ most valued financial partner, taking every opportunity to understand and assess their financial needs and goals. Advises members of appropriate products and services and makes necessary referrals that will help them achieve their goals. Performs all duties with accuracy and in compliance with federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and complies with GLCU’s policies and procedures. Demonstrates cooperation and maintains positive working relationships with other GLCU departments and staff. Supports the Member Promise and maintains positive working relationships by supporting Standards of Excellence. 
 As a Member Specialist (Bank Teller) you will: 

<ul>
<li>Provides high quality member service and retention activities by accurately performing transactions ranging from deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, money orders, and cashier’s check.</li>
<li>Provides appropriate advice, counseling, and solutions to member inquiries and problems. Works with other Credit Union personnel to proactively meet member needs in a responsive, efficient manner across department lines.</li>
<li>Supports a sales and services driven culture. </li>
<li>Complies with federal and state regulations and internal controls and expectations while maintaining secure inventory control of negotiable instruments and cash. </li>
<li>Ensure the safety and security of the branch by following all the policies and procedures. </li>
<li>Opens and prepares department for daily operations. </li>
<li>Processes night depository, express drop and mail transactions as required. </li>
<li>Performs departmental audits and audits of teller work as required. </li>
<li>Verifies members’ signatures, account ownership and identification. </li>
<li>Closes, balances, and secures branch. Balances coin machine and prepares coin shipments. </li>
<li>Maintains vault combinations. </li>
<li>Meets and exceeds personal performance goals and contributes to branch, and Credit Union goals.</li>
<li>Meets and consults with members or prospects to identify needs and offers appropriate products/services to help them achieve their financial objectives. </li>
<li>Builds a relationship with our members by managing a book of business through outbound calls, member resolution calls and sales leads calls.</li>
<li>Responsible for opening and maintaining membership accounts in accordance with policies and procedures. </li>
<li>Provides and assists with Call Center support as needed.</li>
<li>Provides assistance to other departments and branches as required. </li>
<li>Participates in credit union promotions and community events. </li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all GLCU policies, procedures and internal controls.</li>
<li>All other duties as assigned. </li>
</ul>
Requirements needed to be part of this team: 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma, GED or equivalent.</li>
<li>Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.</li>
<li>A passion for helping and supporting others.</li>
<li>Cash handling experience in financial institution or retail establishment.</li>
<li>A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.</li>
<li>Proficient with computer applications and systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li>
