Position Description: 
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the park in a safe and secure condition. The Security Guard will perform patrols throughout their work shift and address any Guest and/or Staff security concerns that may emerge. Security Guard is responsible for protecting zoo assets. Security Guard will be responsible for communication of Severe Weather responses and participate in all of the zoo's emergency protocols. Security Guard is responsible for the coordination of parking guests when required. Security Guards work various scheduled shifts throughout each 24-hour period, seven days a week, including working weekends, holidays and after hour events as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Responsible for performing park wide security patrols throughout assigned shift.</li>
<li>Responsible for identifying any incidents and reporting them to direct supervisor.</li>
<li>Responsible for monitoring weather conditions and communicating status to zoo staff and guests when action is required.</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring that the zoos security systems are in working order.</li>
<li>Responsible for coordinating staff efforts in efficiently parking guests when they arrive and assisting them when exiting.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining a daily activity report and preparation of incident reports for any occurrences during the shift.</li>
<li>Perform all other duties as assigned.</li>

Qualifications
Skills:

Education/ Experience:

Physical Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Working Conditions are primarily outside. Must be able to work outside year-round in inclement weather such as extreme high/low temperatures, snow and rain conditions. </li>
<li>Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Applicants are required to have the ability to bend, stoop and extend oneself etc., as required for performing assigned tasks. </li>

Work Schedule:
Full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week.

The Security Professional Flex Officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle</li>
<li>Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards</li>
<li>Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons</li>
<li>Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles</li>
<li>Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits</li>
<li>Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements</li>
<li>Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post</li>
<li>Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner</li>
<li>Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
<ul>
<li>Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience</li>
<li>Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle</li>
<li>As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws</li>
<li>As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law</li>
<li>No prior experience required</li>
<li>Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)</li>

<li>Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors</li>
