The Associate Dean will play a crucial role in leadership for the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) in the years ahead. The Associate Dean collaborates with the Dean and CEPS Administrative team on planning and implementing college strategic initiatives. This includes supporting CEPS administrative leaders in equity-focused program assessment and accreditation, culturally responsive curriculum and program development, cultivation of business and community partnerships, and strategic management of course offerings and scheduling for the college. The Associate Dean also has an important role in facilitating the implementation of policies and procedures related to the college and the university. The Role:
The Associate Dean is a leadership partner to the Dean. Primary responsibilities include supervision, coordination and leadership for all curricular issues, general education, and graduate education; implementation of College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) courses, programs and strategic priorities; and policy coordination. The Associate Dean also serves on a variety of college and university committees and acts in the Dean's absence.&nbsp;
Job Duties Support for the Dean: -&nbsp;Collaborate with the Dean on planning college strategic initiatives, participate in college fundraising, and coordinate implementation of CEPS strategic priorities. -&nbsp;Provide CEPS administrative leaders support in areas of culturally responsive curriculum development, equity-focused institutional assessment and improvement, human resource management, faculty/staff development and performance evaluations, and budget and finance. -&nbsp;Support the Dean in decision-making, information gathering, report draft preparation, meeting attendance, and follow-through on matters assigned to the chairs and interdisciplinary program directors. -&nbsp;Collaborate with the other Associate Deans. -&nbsp;Collaborate to ensure program quality and effectiveness and to promote student learning, student satisfaction, and student retention in all student populations. -&nbsp;Attend Associate Deans and Academic Affairs meetings. -&nbsp;Act in the Dean’s absence.
Academic Programs and Curricular Management: -&nbsp;Provide strategic management of general education, graduate education, and major program and course offerings, as well as new program development. -&nbsp;Assist with CurricuLog approval changes. -&nbsp;Review and approve course schedules. -&nbsp;Attend Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee meetings. -&nbsp;Support collaboration across units with graduate education and research, including grant proposals. -&nbsp;Provide consultations and advocacy for student concerns.

Minimum Qualifications Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a discipline associated with programs represented in the College of Education and Professional Studies. A record of teaching effectiveness, professional leadership, and scholarship sufficient to support tenure in one of the CEPS’s academic departments. Demonstrated successful departmental or college-level administrative, leadership, and budget experience in an institution of higher education. Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of inclusion and equity issues within a residential liberal arts environment Collaborative and forward-thinking leadership style with the ability to cultivate and maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to benefit the success of students, colleagues, and initiatives. Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading nonprofit victim assistance, advocacy and violence prevention program. Safe Horizon’s Child Advocacy Centers (CAC), play a critical, front-line role in responding to child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse by providing a coordinated and collaborative approach to the investigation of such cases, while ensuring that victims receive immediate, effective support. OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB
Responsible for supervising a unit of clerical employees engaged in processing, typing, filing, or related activities. Work includes coordinating the unit's work, making independent operating decisions concerning the appropriate disposition of work based upon experience and knowledge of office and departmental operations, and resolving personnel and labor relations problems involving members of the unit. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB
<ol>
<li>Manages staff, plans and assigns work, and ensures smooth processing flow by distributing assignments to clerical staff after determining who is available and capable of performing the work. </li>
<li>Explains methods and procedures to clerical staff and demonstrates the operation of office equipment relevant to all clerical positions. </li>
<li>Supervises the creation and maintenance of filing systems, including inserting and/or retrieving documents, preparing new file folders, cross-indexing, and posting and updating file contents. </li>
<li>Oversees the registering and certification of outgoing mail according to USPS regulations; oversees the receipt and timely distribution of internal mail from the courthouse and/or customers.</li>
<li>Determines supply needs for the agency and submits requests to County Fiscal Officer.</li>
<li>Conducts performance reviews of clerical staff and addresses any related personnel issues within the unit.</li>
<li>Participates in the interview and selection process for vacant positions in the clerical unit.</li>
<li>Holds and documents regularly scheduled individual supervisory conferences as needed, but no less than every 30 days. </li>
<li>Meet with parent(s)/caretakers to gather financial information for families of children that are placed into out of home care for both Children and Youth Service and Juvenile Probation; Ensure that all documentation is collected and received; Prepare and submit dictation for financial reporting along with prepared Financial Form. </li>

<li>Apply for Birth Certificates and Social Security Cards for both Children and Youth Services and Juvenile Probation placements. </li>
<li>Receive and handle all placement, change of placement, and discharge placement reporting forms from Children and Youth Services and Juvenile Probation for all children placed into out of home care. Record and post information into the statewide database for quarterly reporting. Run and submit quarterly reports. </li>
<li>Receive and maintain resource files for foster care and facilities under contract with the agency, ensuring that all licensure-required information is on file and scanned into the statewide database.</li>
<li>Maintain all secured case files and documents that are handled through clerical. Ensure that all information is entered, scanned, filed and handled properly in a manner in which all information is kept secured.</li>
<li>Receive and handle all incoming weekly and monthly summary reports that are received from outside contracted venders and service providers and ensure the reports are handled and distributed to all needed areas.</li>

<li>Provides input and feedback into the development of agency policies and procedures relevant to the clerical unit.</li>
