The Department of Biology at California State University San Bernardino invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology with research expertise in organismal plant biology with an emphasis on structure and function to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to apply for extramural funding, conduct and publish research in organismal plant biology with an emphasis on structure and function, applying laboratory and/ or field research involving undergraduate and Master’s students. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to service and shared governance to the department, college, and university. Moreover, the successful candidate will preferably take over the role of the CSUSB herbarium curator. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in biology or related field; postdoctoral experience is highly desired.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Biology has 17 tenure-track/tenured faculty with a variety of research interests, as well as lecturers and technicians who provide pivotal support. The department offers undergraduate and graduate programs. The department has facilities for 3D printing, cell culture and stem cell research, animal care, and plant growth. The CSUSB herbarium hosts a small collection (about 4,000 specimens) of mostly local flora. In addition, the department has access to the College of Natural Science’s Electron Microscope and Image Analysis Center (EMIAC). Compensation: Hourly Pay Range: The pay for this position is determined by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with National Organization of Legal Services Workers (NOLSW). The 2025 hourly rate for the Technician, Health Information Management position ranges from $19.19 to $30.25 per hour, depending on seniority and other factors as outlined in the CBA. Overtime Compensation: Overtime is compensated at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for any hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.

Health Information Services Technician – Full-Time 
A leading healthcare organization is currently hiring experienced Health Information Services Technicians to join its Health Information Management department. This full-time, onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. As a Health Information Services Technician, you will play a key role in processing and managing sensitive patient data in compliance with HIPAA and federal/state regulations.
Job Responsibilities –

Process medical records requests from patients, physician offices, attorneys, and third parties.

Prioritize and manage multiple information release requests using appropriate systems.
</li>

Ensure timely and accurate release of information in accordance with all applicable laws and privacy guidelines.

Educate requestors on confidentiality and privacy standards regarding patient information.

3–5 years of experience in health information management or medical records.
</li>

Minimum 1 year of direct experience with EPIC’s Release of Information (ROI) module.

Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and proper release of medical information.
</li>

Proficient with digital record tools, including Kofax, PDF applications, and e-fax systems.

Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy (95%+).
