Job Summary
A Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
Specific Job-Related Duties and Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Communicates and works closely with the office manager/Accounting Manager/Controller daily.</li>
<li>Prepares and reconciles bank deposits.</li>
<li>Prints all accounts payable and/or receivable reports and maintains all files.</li>
<li>Posts internals and other accounting entries as directed by office manager.</li>
<li>Calculates Dealer Trades.</li>
<li>Inputs/stocks in new vehicles into the computer system as directed by the office manager.</li>
<li>Reconciles statements and the ledger making sure that payments are consistent with dealership schedules.</li>
<li>Reconciles cash and other schedules as assigned.</li>
<li>Maintains and reconciles petty cash system.</li>
<li>Provides title clerk with information on all purchased vehicles for title list.</li>
<li>Reconciles bank balances on a daily basis.</li>
<li>Assists in monthly closings.</li>
<li>Assists with accounts receivable, payable and special projects, as necessary.</li>
<li>Reconciles and deposits service and parts receipts, including charge cards, on a daily basis.</li>
<li>Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by customer.</li>
<li>Files all cash receipt records, check stubs, and bank receipts.</li>
<li>Prepares accounting statements monthly as directed.</li>
<li>Reports sold units through the factory reporting system. Maintains accurate delivery records.</li>
<li>Posts fuel credits on a daily basis and reconciles the fuel schedule.</li>
<li>Fills in for other administrative positions as needed and directed by management and assists with related special projects as required.</li>
<li>Cross-trains others for this position as directed by management.</li>
<li>Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.</li>
<li>Summarizes sales and expense analysis to detect potential problem areas and opportunities</li>
<li>Reinforces company policies and adheres to all company standards</li>
<li>Maintains and inspects for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations</li>
<li>Ensure proper internal controls are in place</li>
<li>Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable, and floor plan payable</li>
<li>Payroll &amp; Commissions</li>
<li>Warranty and aftermarket reconciliation</li>
<li>Accounts Payable</li>
<li>Input Inventory and Close customer deals</li>
</ul>
General Company Related Duties and Responsibilities

<li>Report to work within acceptable time frames and company standards.</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate degree of professionalism towards customers and coworkers.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required</li>
<li>Must have experience within an automotive dealership office (automotive billing, registering vehicles, automotive titles, etc.)</li>
<li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as well as calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages</li>
<li>Understanding of basic document editing in WORD, EXCEL, ADOBE, and HTML.</li>
<li>Current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)</li>
