Duluth Children’s is the region’s largest provider of pediatric care. With over 65 pediatric specialists and sub specialists on staff and the region’s only PICU and NICU, we are able to care for the area’s most critically ill infants and children. We have a full-range practice including pediatric orthopedics, cardiology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, trauma, pulmonary, urology and gastroenterology. We are looking for a pediatric surgeon with the skill, interest and enthusiasm to assist us in growing and developing our program.&nbsp;&nbsp;

<li>Join a team of 65 pediatric specialists, including Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Anesthesiology, Pediatric Pulmonology, Pediatric Cardiology and Maternal Fetal Medicine along with 12 general surgeons at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital, part of St. Mary’s Medical Center, a 330 bed tertiary Top 100 Hospital</li>
<li>Opportunity to develop the regions first pediatric surgery program with the commitment and support of a nationally recognized health care system</li>
<li>Home to the region’s only neonatal and pediatric intensive care units</li>
<li>Active transport system serving MN, WI and MI</li>

SUMMARY
Join a well-established Family Medicine residency program dedicated to training the next generation of physicians to serve rural communities. The Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program (DFMRP) offers comprehensive outpatient, inpatient, and obstetric care in Duluth, MN.

PRACTICE HIGHLIGHTS:

<li>Teach and mentor residents and medical students to deliver compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based care.</li>
<li>Foster a dynamic learning environment that encourages open discussion, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.</li>
<li>Interest in program leadership, procedures, and ultrasound is a plus!</li>
<li>Our residents have achieved a 100% board pass rate for the past 5 years.</li>
<li>Supervise resident patient care and provide actionable feedback to support their professional growth.</li>
<li>Coordinate rotations with physician site supervisors to optimize resident learning experiences.</li>
<li>Evaluate residents using diverse tools and methods, including ACGME milestones and direct observation.</li>
<li>Promote a culture that prioritizes the wellbeing of residents, staff, and faculty.</li>
<li>Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality educational activities.</li>
<li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives and scholarly activities.</li>
<li>Serve as an advisor to residents, guiding them in setting individualized learning goals and plans.</li>
<li>Contribute to the resident recruitment process.</li>

<li>Provide direct ambulatory care to a panel of patients (independent of resident involvement).</li>

REQUIRMENTS:&nbsp;

<li>Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota.</li>
<li>Demonstrated passion for educating residents, medical students, and/or health science students.</li>
<li>Role includes 0.2 FTE outpatient direct patient care and 0.8 FTE core faculty responsibilities.</li>
</ul>

COMPENSATION
