SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:&nbsp;&nbsp;
Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Associate conducts laboratory and field research, use and maintenance of facilities and equipment, supervise students, facilitates execution of research projects in aquaculture nutrition, and assists with data acquisition and analysis, grant writing and publications.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Coordinate with Principal Investigator to fulfill project objectives.&nbsp;
Assist with use and maintenance of equipment, hatchery facilities, ponds, and Water Quality laboratory.&nbsp;
Assist other research staff by performing designated procedures and training.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Facilitate research and teaching activities among student employees, graduate students, research assistants, and collaborators.&nbsp;
Maintain records (research data, analytical procedures, manuals of analytical equipment, etc).&nbsp;
Responsible use of KSU vehicles and equipment.&nbsp;
Assist with purchasing equipment, materials, and supplies for research projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Assist with writing grant proposals and refereed manuscripts.&nbsp;
Assist with data analysis, and preparation of graphics and text for presentation and publication.&nbsp;

QUALIFICATIONS:&nbsp;
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Agriculture or a related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in Aquaculture Nutrition Research.&nbsp;&nbsp;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:&nbsp;
Experience with the manufacture of research diets for shrimp and finfish.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Experience with shrimp and finfish production.&nbsp;
Experience conducting nutrition studies (growth and digestibility) with shrimp and finfish.&nbsp;
Experience in performing proximate analyses in feeds and tissues of shrimp and finfish.&nbsp;
Experience with enzyme assays, plate reader, and analytical equipment.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Experience with routine water quality analyses in aquaculture.&nbsp;
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting recirculating aquaculture systems.&nbsp;
Knowledge of aquaculture nutrition research methods and experimental designs.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Research Associate - Aquaculture Nutrition

The Michigan Society of Fellows was founded in 1970 through grants from the Ford Foundation and Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies for the purpose of promoting academic and creative excellence in the humanities, the arts, the social, physical, and life sciences, and in the professions. The objective of the Society is to provide financial and intellectual support for individuals holding advanced degrees in their fields, who are selected for their outstanding achievement, professional promise, and interdisciplinary interests.&nbsp;
Candidates should be near the beginning of their professional careers. Those selected for fellowships must have received the Ph.D. degree or comparable artistic or professional degree between June 1, 2021, and August 26, 2024. Fellows are appointed as Assistant Professors in appropriate departments and as Postdoctoral Scholars in the Michigan Society of Fellows. They are expected to be in residence in Ann Arbor during the academic years of the fellowship, to teach for the equivalent of one academic year, to participate in the informal intellectual life of the Society, and to devote time to their independent research or artistic projects. This is not an artist-in-residence program but rather an opportunity to develop one’s work in conversation with fellows from a range of disciplines during the three years of the fellowship. We seek a diverse and international pool of applicants and especially welcome candidates from underrepresented backgrounds. This Dean will provide strategic leadership to achieve the University and SASE’s strategic goals. The SASE Dean reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and represents SASE in all academic and other pertinent matters. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
