We are seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Media to lead and align our sales and marketing efforts for our Media business vertical. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market reach, promoting positive customer experience, and ensuring Baron Weather’s continued success as an industry leader.
Role Overview
As the VP of Media, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive media revenue strategy, overseeing all media sales activity, and fostering collaboration across the organization. You will identify and embrace opportunities to scale revenue streams across an increasingly diverse media ecosystem, build strategic partnerships, maintain and enhance broadcast group relationships, and enhance customer engagement.&nbsp; You must be able to easily adapt from focusing on strategic actions to being hands on during each day.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy Development
<ul>
<li>Develop and implement a revenue growth strategy for Baron’s Media business vertical.</li>
<li>Identify emerging market trends, new product opportunities, and innovative business models to drive growth in domestic and international markets.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the management team to align revenue goals with the company’s long-term vision.</li>
</ul>
Sales Leadership
<ul>
<li>Lead and scale a high-performing, customer-focused sales team to achieve revenue targets.</li>
<li>Develop sales processes that promote accountability and performance.</li>
<li>Build and nurture relationships with key customers, media groups, partners, and industry stakeholders to secure strategic deals and partnerships.</li>
<li>Work with the marketing team to create and execute data-driven campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.</li>
<li>Utilize competitive intelligence and market insights to refine Baron Weather’s go-to-market strategy.</li>
</ul>
Cross-Functional Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Engage with product development teams to align product offerings with market needs.</li>
<li>Work with customer success teams to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and opportunities to increase sales.</li>
<li>Foster collaboration between sales, marketing, and other departments to create a seamless customer experience.</li>
</ul>
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
<ul>
<li>Leverage CRM tools and analytics to measure sales and marketing performance.</li>
<li>Provide regular reporting and actionable insights to the executive team on revenue trends, opportunities, and risks.</li>
<li>Adjust strategies, tactics, and pricing models based on data-driven feedback and market dynamics.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>10+ years of broadcast and digital media sales management experience is required.</li>
<li>Proven track record of driving revenue growth and scaling sales and marketing functions.</li>
<li>Experience working in weather data or technology sectors is highly desirable.</li>
<li>A network that consists of US media executives is desirable.</li>
<li>Demonstrated success leading winning sales teams.</li>
<li>Strong strategic thinking and ability to identify growth opportunities in competitive markets.</li>
<li>A dynamic personality with exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills is paramount.</li>
<li>Experience with managing remote reports is essential.</li>
<li>Experience with CRM platforms, sales analytics tools, and marketing automation systems.</li>

Vice President of Media 

Hearst Media Production Group (HMPG) is seeking a Business Development Executive with extensive national sales experience developing content-driven media partnerships and sponsorships for family-friendly brands/advertisers, non-profits, and foundations.&nbsp; This individual must establish and maintain senior-level relationships to develop and pitch unique multi-platform programs, ultimately closing and negotiating long-term partnership agreements.&nbsp;
The ideal candidate can leverage and create successful relationships with Executives at Fortune 500 companies, media and digital agencies, privately held brand advertisers, and non-profit and foundations executives and boards.&nbsp; This individual has sales experience pitching and negotiating national media/sponsorship contracts and a passion for creating original, mission-driven programming across linear, streaming, and digital channels. The position includes a base salary and commission structure.
This position reports to the National Sales Manager and is in office four (4) days a week at our Hearst offices located in Charlotte, NC or Glendale, CA.
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Proactively identify, research, and pitch new sales prospects for our family-friendly programming blocks on ABC, CBS, NBC, The CW, Telemundo, and other media and digital/social outlets</li>
<li>Support creation and present strategic, cross-media concepts ranging from in-program integrations to new, original series to multiple stakeholder groups that meet a client’s business objectives</li>
<li>Navigate complex client organizational environments to pitch and close long-term sponsorships and content production partnerships, including contract negotiation and renewal efforts</li>
<li>Collaborate with the production team and key internal stakeholders to successfully transition closed deals to activation by working with the Client Activation team to prepare for both internal and external kick-off meetings</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>8+ years of relevant business development and sales experience with a demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets</li>
<li>Agency, media company or branded content studio experience required</li>
<li>Possess a network of contacts with prospective clients of varying sizes, and most importantly, the drive to identify and develop new relationships&nbsp;</li>
<li>Strong business development skills including outbound prospecting, brand research, and cold outreach, presentation development, proposal writing, and experience presenting to C-level executives</li>
<li>Extensive experience in structuring and negotiating national media or sponsorship contractual arrangements, focused on content production, sponsorship, and distribution</li>
<li>Must be conversant with prevailing legal structures and provisions found in media and production contracts and skilled at working with attorneys to shepherd agreements through legal review</li>
<li>Ability to succeed in a cross-functional, fast-paced working environment using clear and effective written and verbal communication</li>
<li>Fluency with marketing and audience data as measured across different media including linear TV,&nbsp;streaming, and social media platforms</li>
<li>Familiarity with project finance, including navigating detailed internal and client-facing production budgets</li>
<li>Willingness to travel for client pitches and meetings</li>
<li>Proficient in Salesforce</li>
<li>Receptive to learning new, other tools/software that support the sales process (e.g. Winmo, Monday.com, etc.)</li>
</ul>
Education
<ul>
<li>Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience</li>

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $175,000. &nbsp;The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. &nbsp;The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
