ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

4. Responsible to maintain and document an awareness of individual treatment plans, inclusive of use of leisure time, community experiences, use of public transportation, safety skills, personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
5. Monitor medical, physical and behavioral changes in individuals on a daily basis and report changes to the Supervisor, RN Program Coordinator or Program Director as it occurs, is observed or discovered; write up incident reports and submit to Program Coordinator or Residential Program Manager within 24 hours.
6. Once Medication Certified, administer medication to clients at prescribed times; in accordance with agency policy and DDS regulatory standards. Report all errors of medication administration or documentation to the RN, Program Manager and Program Coordinator immediately.
7. Monitor and assist in making medical and other related appointments as requested. Following medical appointments assist and monitor follow through on all doctors’ orders and recommendations per RN direction.
8. Participate in the planning, purchasing and preparation of meals within available budgetary resources; ensure clients’ dietary plans are followed.
9.Maintain the appearance, cleanliness and upkeep of the house, properties and vehicle, insuring they are clean and safe. Report all repair needs to the Program Manager and/or Program Coordinator in a timely manner.
10. Conduct self in a professional manner when interacting with participants, supervisors, co-workers, families, medical profession and members of the community.
11. Participate in training opportunities (in-service training, staff meetings, conferences, etc.), as required; maintain all required training per agency policy and DDS regulatory requirement.
12. Provide accurate accounting of agency’s petty cash and client funds in an informative, auditable condition at all times, as required or requested by the Residential Program Manager.
13. Assures individuals’ right to privacy and adheres to CRI’s confidentiality policy.
14. Take individuals to a variety of community based outings ensuring that all health and safety measures in the Individuals support plan are followed while in the community. Utilizes the agency vehicle following state laws and safety procedures.
15. Familiarize oneself with CRI policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with same.
16. Assist in developing a positive neighborhood/community relationship.

About the Role
The Residential Coordinator provides essential 24-hour awake coverage and supervision of the domestic violence shelter. The Residential Coordinator is the lead person on shift acting as the first point of contact for client needs and support. This position is responsible for crisis intervention, facilities management, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the front desk and maintaining a positive living environment within the shelter. The residential coordinator will ensure the safety of shelter residents and the property of Shelter House.
How you will contribute:
<ul>
<li>Ensure the safe functioning of the shelter and maintain a safe environment for clients.</li>
<li>Monitor all calls and inquiries while maintaining confidentiality at all times.</li>
<li>Answer crisis calls from the Fairfax County Domestic Violence Hotline and complete safety plans and needs assessments</li>
<li>Update the daily log by documenting all interactions with clients and any other significant events in the shelter</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Work closely with case managers to support and reinforce the client’s service plan and maintain ongoing communication regarding client progress</li>
<li>Accompany clients to court and various other appointments to support client goals</li>
<li>Complete efficient shift exchange with incoming/ outgoing staff and report on the day’s activities in order to maintain consistency throughout the day</li>
<li>Ensure all documentation pertaining to the Shelter House log is completed and in compliance with agency best practice</li>
<li>Evaluate and provide for basic needs of shelter clients while on shift. Distribute household items, toiletries and other items to clients as needed.</li>

<li>Maintain the dignity and confidentiality of all clients during service delivery</li>
<li>Maintain current knowledge and ability to administer emergency procedures to include building evacuation, health emergencies and safety management</li>
<li>Conduct assessments and intakes for clients in imminent danger seeking a safe haven.</li>
<li>Assist with administration of medication delivery and security</li>
<li>Participate in staff meetings and staff trainings as directed by supervisor</li>

<li>Ensure compliance with all agency policies and best practices</li>
<li>Serve as emergency personnel and must report to work as scheduled regardless of circumstances (inclement weather, highway congestion, Etc.)</li>

Requirements
Required:
<ul>
<li>A high school diploma or GED</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>2+ years of experience in human services</li>
<li>Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and team members</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed</li>
</ul>
Preferred:
<ul>
<li>A bachelor’s in human services/ related field</li>
<li>Experience working in programs serving victims of domestic violence</li>
<li>Experience working in a residential environment</li>
<li>Current CPR/ First aid certification</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Annual TB Test is required</li>
<li>Ability to sit or stand for long periods</li>
<li>Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds</li>
</ul>
