The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides daily support to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) DSPs develop meaningful relationships and connections with individuals, provide them with a safe living environment, teach tasks individuals may learn to do for themselves, and assist with any tasks individuals cannot do for themselves such as cooking, housekeeping, bathing, and toileting, taking medications, going to work, shopping, driving and managing money. DSPs need to exhibit patience, compassion, integrity, composure under pressure, dependability, and a strong sense of teamwork. 1. Assist with Daily Living Skills
· Supervise the medical, financial, social, and emotional needs of individuals served as well as the daily operations of the program.
· Assist with all areas of the individuals’ programs including, but not limited to personal hygiene cares (including, but not limited to bathing, toileting, tooth brushing, etc.), medication administration, daily household chores, use of personal finances and support in the community.
· Safely drive the company car, lift van or personal auto to activities and appointments around the Twin Cities and provide support for individuals’ participation in the community.
· Manage difficult situations effectively. Resolve minor issues when possible and escalate to appropriate leader when necessary.
· Report all accidents, injuries and illnesses or complaints about care and follow procedures for any behavioral or medical emergencies.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am – 5pm Pay: $25/hr, temp to hire Location: Kapolei, HI RESPONSIBILITIES • Assists with Collecting Rent, Bank Deposits, Preparing and Submitting Rent Roll and Income Verification • Monitors Work Orders and Walks the grounds Daily • Answers Telephone, Files, Prepares Correspondence • Assist Residents with Questions or Problems • Assists with Evictions, Annual Inspections and Repairs • Assist with Re-certifications; Resident Notification, Setting up Appointments, Tracking • Prepares and processes leases, security deposit agreements, inspections and other forms for incoming residents. Assists Resident Manager in processing evictions. • Responds to emergencies as needed. • May conduct market surveys. • Consistently receives shopping and phone report score of at least 90. • Assumes responsibilities of Resident Manager in the Resident Manager’s absence, under the direction of the Property Supervisor. • May perform some or all the Essential Responsibilities of the Leasing Agent and/or Bookkeeper position. • Maintains confidentiality of resident, applicant, and or employee information. • Other duties as assigned. RECERTIFICATIONS • Refers to a recertification schedule on the computer and reviews it monthly. • Mails recertification letters to residents 120 days prior to the anniversary date of move-in. • Sets up appointments with residents to sign necessary forms. • Send reminder notices to residents who fail to make prompt appointment responses for the recertification process. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES • Ability to develop and implement site budgets and variance reporting. • Demonstrable skill in the use of Microsoft Office software. • Skill in problem solving with staff, applicants and residents • Knowledge of HUD, DFEH and ADA guidelines and other regulatory agency guidelines specific to site. • Able to maintain a calm and professional demeanor in all communications with residents, vendors and staff. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • May supervise one staff person. • Orients new employees to position. • Trains staff on emergency procedures and employee safety. • Provides performance feedback to employees, including coaching, counseling and disciplining. • Hire and evaluates employees. • Conducts regular meetings for discussions, problem solving, encouraging, and training. QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent • 1+ Year of Affordable Housing Property Management Experience • Knowledge of HUD, TCAC, DFEH and ADA Guidelines • Skilled in Problem Solving and Resident Relations • Strong Computer and Phone Skills
