About The Role
The ideal Head of Accounting candidate will have 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in an MGA, brokerage, or insurance-related firm. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is available to work remotely or in a state where Players Health currently has employees, unless approved otherwise. Players Health is a remote-first distributed workforce. Travel may be required for team collaboration, training, and development. The Head of Accounting role has a compensation range of $140,000-$180,000, depending on skills and experience.
You will join an organization going through significant growth as well as digital transformation. Instill a mindset of ownership and accountability with all managers and team members, providing a playbook for best practices defining expectations to meet the vision and strategy for growth.

Responsibilities (are inclusive of but not limited to):
Financial Reporting &amp; Oversight
<ul>
<li>Direct all monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across multiple entities</li>
<li>Oversee preparation of GAAP financial statements, management reports, and board packages</li>
<li>Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls</li>
<li>Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in partnership with FP&amp;A</li>
<li>Provide financial insights to executive leadership to inform strategy</li>
<li>Personify the tone at the top and demonstrate Players Healths commitment to being honest and ethical</li>
</ul>
Operational Leadership &amp; Compliance
<ul>
<li>Enhance and maintain strong, scalable system of internal controls, consistent with the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) framework</li>
<li>Supervise general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations</li>
<li>Oversee premium accounting, trust account reconciliations, and producer commission processing</li>
<li>Manage team performance, hiring, and ongoing training</li>
<li>Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with financial covenants, trust account rules, and state-level regulatory requirements</li>
<li>Maintain knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP) to support carrier reporting, bordereaux accuracy, and MGA obligations</li>
<li>Contribute to system implementations, automation, and process improvements</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>

Minimum Skills &amp; Qualifications:

<li>Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field</li>
<li>CPA certification required, including compliance with continuing education requirements</li>
<li>10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership roles in an MGA, brokerage, or insurance-related organization</li>
<li>Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting principles (SAP)</li>

<li>Hands-on experience with insurance-specific accounting operations, including premiums, commissions, trust accounts, and bordereaux</li>

The Position:
We are seeking a people-focused Maintenance Technician for our 55 and older, active adult community - Affinity at Coeur d'Alene. As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the onsite maintenance needs of the community.

<li>Assist with, at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, work related to maintenance, work orders, and unit turnovers, including maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems, drywall and carpentry repair, etc.</li>
<li>Assist with appliance repair and replacement, including installation and removal.</li>
<li>Perform repairs on vacant apartments to ensure proper operating conditions and appearance upon move-in.</li>
<li>Complete grounds maintenance such as trash pick-up, landscaping, power washing common areas, carports, and buildings.</li>
<li>Clear walkways and ADA areas of snow, ice, and other safety hazards.</li>
<li>Perform or assist with the hanging of new light fixtures and ceiling fans, overhead kitchen lighting, etc., this includes light fixtures in vaulted ceilings.</li>
<li>Assist in painting vacant apartments and community common areas.</li>
<li>Change all air-conditioning filters at least every six months and upon apartment turnover.</li>
<li>Follow a preventative maintenance schedule as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. </li>
<li>Repair and maintain equipment owned by the community.</li>
<li>Assist in maintaining pool equipment, chemical monitoring, and weekly washing of pool deck with fresh water. </li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.</li>
<li>Provide evening, weekend, and holiday emergency services when required.</li>
<li>Maintain on-call availability as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.</li>
