Manufacturing and Warehouse Associates (Advance, NC) ($15.00 - $21.00 per hour)

ABOUT THE ROLE The Automation Engineer is responsible for plant process control system [PCS] specification, application programming, testing, commissioning and maintenance. The incumbent applies the PCS as a tool for improvement of plant performance including rate, availability, OEE and MTBF. Other responsibilities include facilitating use of the PCS as a resource for Process, Maintenance, Production, Shipping, Environmental and Quality Departments. This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign bonus. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH \n
<ul>\n
<li>Manage and maintain all process related hardware, software and documentation within the confine of the control room and server room.</li>
\n
<li>Support the maintenance and operation of plant electrical systems and troubleshooting of electrical and control system problems.</li>
\n
<li>Working knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems (ControlLogix, PLC-5, and SLC 500). Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters and VFD's, communication networks (Modbus, Modbus Plus, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.).</li>
\n
<li>Prevent downtime due to faults; continuous improvement to extend the life of existing PCS and facilitate eventual upgrade or replacement.</li>
\n
<li>Programming of Rockwell Contrologix PLC's, Factorytalk View se HMI's, plant pax,VMWare Network Virtualization.</li>
\n
<li>Support installation of new plant equipment from conception to operation. Assure integration of new systems into plant operations.</li>
\n
<li>Use of the PCS to provide information for management or other reporting functions (high degree of involvement with environmental reporting and permit compliance).</li>
\n
<li>Maintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.</li>
\n
<li>Maintain, organize, prepare, review and revise drawings as required.</li>
\n
<li>Extensive knowledge of instrumentation, high-level control and expert systems, PLC control and machinery interlocking systems, variable speed drives and motor control systems.</li>
\n
<li>Identify improvement opportunities to maximize equipment life cycle and efficiency.</li>
\n
<li>Work closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Process Engineers to analyze, improve and document all aspects of operations.</li>
\n
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. </li>
\n</ul>
\n WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Education: Bachelor's degree Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering or similar field Required Work Experience: 1-3 years Required Computer and Software Skills: SAP, AutoCAD, VMWare, Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) Additional Requirements: \n
