Scope:
 
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Process Engineer to manage and optimize the Drill, Route, and Lamination departments. This position requires a "Whatever it Takes" mentality, and it involves working closely with Supervisors to drive efficiency, quality improvements, and process excellence. Reporting to the Engineering Manager and Director of Operations, this role supports the core engineering and production processes and ensures consistent operational improvement.
 
Responsibilities:
 
Oversee engineering processes in the Drill, Route, and Lamination areas, providing recommendations, modifications, and support to enhance efficiency.
Assist Supervisors in training employees on procedures and processes; act as a technical mentor.
Lead quality initiatives, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve quality issues in partnership with Supervisors.
Spearhead initiatives focused on productivity, safety, waste reduction, and cost control within assigned areas.
Conduct operator and process audits to identify and correct procedural deviations, ensuring high attention to detail.
Partners with Vendors and communicate with Maintenance, Production, and Lab/WWT teams to resolve issues and drive process improvements.
Become proficient in department equipment operation and processes, acting as the technical expert for any operational challenges.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of procedural improvements and ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
Be accessible outside of standard hours for critical process issues; your expertise will be essential in troubleshooting and decision-making.
Collaborate with CAM, customers, and other engineers to convey process capabilities and limitations effectively.
Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager and Director of Operations, supporting overall manufacturing excellence.

Bachelor’s degree in a related Science or Engineering field, or a strong equivalent in relevant experience.
Prior experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment, especially in drilling, routing, and lamination processes, is required.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications and an aptitude for technical problem-solving.
Effective communicators are able to interact with multiple departments, including Maintenance, Vendors, Production, and CAM.
Ability to conduct detailed audits and analyses to uphold process quality and consistency.
Willing to travel occasionally to sister facilities for training or support purposes.

<li>Examine form and texture to parts to detect imperfections, inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. </li>
<li>May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. </li>

The Sheet-Metal Worker/Fabricator will be responsible for performing non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity on project articles, components, and support structures and equipment.
We are looking for an individual that can use their Sheet-Metal Worker/Fabricator experience to add value and make a significant impact as a Sheet-Metal Worker/Fabricator to NAVAIR for this opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Perform as a member of a project work team on project article preparations, modifications, assembly, setup, and teardown using fabrication shop machinery, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly operations to accomplish project requirements according to approved design tolerances.</li>
<li>Perform precision sheet-metal fabrication for modifications to, or manufacturing of, unique equipment, systems, and structures.</li>
<li>Perform inspection and acceptance checks at project milestones and upon completion of project assignments to ensure technical adequacy.</li>
<li>Fabricate unconventional, one-of-a-kind items, systems, apparatus, and structures in support of experimental project articles.</li>
<li>Plan and conduct work from blueprints, drawings, plans, and/or technical publications.</li>
<li>Perform maintenance, repair, and updates on specialized equipment and systems unique to WOLF operations.</li>
<li>Perform other tasks as required to support customer requirements.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)</li>
<li>Must possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License</li>
<li>High school education or equivalent.</li>
<li>Formal military or trade school, or equivalent on-the-job training commensurate with duties.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in sheet-metal fabrication and shop operations at the journeyman level.</li>
<li>Expertise with precision hand tools and measuring instruments.</li>
<li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and project requirements.</li>
<li>Capable of leading a fabrication team on project efforts to meet cost, schedule, and technical specifications as per approved engineering designs.</li>
<li>Capable of developing modifications to satisfy project requirements without jeopardizing safety of operations.</li>
<li>Ability to work tactfully with professional engineers, technicians, and management staff on all levels of effort.</li>
</ul>
Work Conditions: 
Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. The position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and hands-on materials engineer who is excited to lead and execute R&amp;D initiatives in the high-temperature environment of hypersonics. The ideal candidate will have experience with ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), including design, testing, analysis, and reporting associated with components in an operational environment (OE) and/or that are part of a program-of-record (POR). Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualificatio:

<li>Proven track recordin leading R&amp;D projects, preferably funded by government grants.</li>
