The SMT Machine Operator is responsible for setup and operation of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the SMT Machine Operator I at Altek

Includes the following:
<ul>
<li>Proficiency in setup and operation of SMT Machines production equipment while achieving goals for quality, efficiency, and productivity.</li>
<li>Create basic Stencil Printer programs</li>
<li>Monitor the operation of equipment to ensure that assemblies are built to print and in compliance with applicable workmanship standards.</li>
<li>Inspect printed solder paste and component alignment for accuracy.</li>
<li>Understand and identify defects</li>
<li>Perform daily machine maintenance activities for assigned production equipment as specified on the Preventive Maintenance schedules.</li>
<li>Perform manual placement of SMT and PTH components.</li>
<li>Load feeders for equipment and wash boards as needed.</li>
<li>Read, interpret, follow, and meet the expectations of the SMT Machine Schedule</li>
<li>Actively participates in quality initiatives by participating in problem solving, process improvements and performance measurements.</li>
<li>Responsible for understanding &amp; following company, and or manufacturing guidelines/procedures</li>
<li>Responsible for product quality as defined by internal and external customers, work instructions, specifications and procedures.</li>

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Working Conditions

Working conditions involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, and maneuvering wheeled SMT Machine feeder carts.
