Across the US and parts of Canada, we help our clients recover the costs of third-party damage to their infrastructure, such as underground fiber optic or gas lines. PLC currently employs over 140 people, servicing some of the largest cable and telecoms operators (e.g., Comcast, Spectrum, AT&amp;T, and Google). POSITION SUMMARY
Outside Plant Damage (OPD) costs our clients over 30 million annually. Field investigators are needed to collect, access, and report these damages. This is a part-time, on-call contract job to help support our clients with damage recovery. For our field investigators, each day and every investigation is different. We need inquisitive, self-driven individuals who are comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working in a constantly changing, dynamic environment.  
Duties

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Legal Assistant will work directly with their attorney and litigation paralegal to support ongoing cases in compliance with Florida’s Rules of Civil Procedure. Responsibilities include obtaining medical records, updated bills, liens, loans, and PIP logs; drafting legal documents for attorney review; and communicating with clients and opposing counsel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

<li>Review and rename medical records, bills, NPNP records, LOPs, PIP logs &amp; health insurance liens.</li>
<li>Read and review intake, notes, and discovery.</li>
<li>Request medical records, bills, and diagnostic CDs.</li>
<li>Create full sets of medical records &amp; bills.</li>
<li>Prepare medical notebooks for depositions, mediations &amp; trials.</li>
<li>Enter visits and physician names for medical chronologies and Expert/Witness lists.</li>
<li>Audit medical bills.</li>
<li>Process invoices for medical records, bills, and diagnostic CDs.</li>
<li>Review health liens, prepare health lien keys, and dispute all unrelated claims.</li>
<li>Follow up with medical providers &amp; update files accordingly.</li>
<li>E-file legal documents in Florida’s E-portal system.</li>

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro or other similar PDF software.</li>
