About the Role

Key Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: This role involves managing administrative tasks associated with legal eviction cases. Responsibilities include editing and preparing correspondence and legal documents, maintaining electronic files, handling extensive calendaring and performing e-filing in state and city courts. The position also requires regular electronic communications with clients via proprietary websites to provide case status updates and seek fee approvals. The paralegal will work directly with, and report to, a Partner in firm’s eviction practice who is licensed in New York and New Jersey. This position will be based out of our office in Iselin, NJ, with the potential for a hybrid assignment as well.
 DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Independently prepare and format eviction complaints, routine pleadings correspondence, and other legal documents.</li>
<li>Read and electronically organize e-mails.</li>
<li>File pleadings electronically with courts; mail service of documents and correspondence.</li>
<li>Maintain, organize and update firm and client systems with case status and progress notes.</li>
<li>Submit fee approval requests in client systems and enter billable time entries in the firm’s system.</li>
<li>Schedule and coordinate appointments and other meetings for the Partner.</li>
<li>Work closely with the Partner to drive the New York evictions portfolio.</li>
<li>Proofread legal documents as required, and assemble exhibits, ensuring proper redaction.</li>
<li>Paralegal will provide support to the Legal Team in a high volume, time sensitive work environment.</li>
<li>Provide service and client status updates; follow-up on outstanding documents and/or services; coordinate with title companies, process servers or other contacts to complete outstanding tasks such as missing documents.</li>

EDUCATION &amp; WORK EXPERIENCE:
