Position Summary
The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) currently consists of 16 attorneys working collaboratively to provide a full range of legal services to Columbia University. &nbsp;OGC is seeking an attorney to work primarily on employment related issues in connection with Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).&nbsp; CUIMC is one of the nation’s largest academic medical centers, and includes the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, School of Dental Medicine, Mailman School of Public Health and School of Nursing. &nbsp;Experience in employment law is required. The ideal candidate would also have experience in a university or hospital setting or background in healthcare law. &nbsp;The Assistant/Associate title and salary will be commensurate with level of relevant experience.
Responsibilities

<li>Provide advice and counsel to the General Counsel and CUIMC clients on a wide range of faculty and other employee matters; Be responsible for employment related litigation and pre-litigation matters including: Support internal investigations and audits, Review and answer/direct subpoenas, and Participate in, oversee and provide guidance on mediation, arbitration, grievances and disciplinary actions, and collective bargaining;</li>

Develop litigation strategy and oversee outside counsel in litigation matters; Respond to inquiries on regulatory matters and advise on and support compliance activities; Develop, draft and interpret University policies including those related to CUIMC’s faculty and staﬀ; Prepare documents and review/negotiate agreements; and Support all University related legal efforts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications &amp; Skills
Education:
A Juris Doctor degree from a nationally recognized law school with excellent academic credentials in law school and in undergraduate studies.

Associate General Counsel (CUIMC)

Position Summary

Although the role will be generalist in nature, it will focus on contracts/transactional matters at the outset and may be adjusted based on the experience/skills of the successful candidate and needs of the organization. The Assistant/Associate title and salary will be commensurate with level of relevant experience.
Responsibilities

<li>Provide advice and counsel to internal clients, including University leadership, on a wide variety of issues of critical importance to the University;</li>

As a member of the library’s dynamic, collaborative Instructional Technology Services team, the librarian in this position has primary oversight for the Office of Legal Technology &amp; Instructional Services. This position leads the development and delivery of services supporting the integration of library resources into the curriculum, the curation and use of the library’s growing electronic resources collection, the use of scholarly communication technologies and services, and the undertaking of digital initiatives. An established Am 100 Law firm with over 150 years in practice is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its Asset Management group focused on SBIC and private equity fund formation. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience working on fund formation matters, including private equity funds and small business investment companies, and a strong understanding of relevant securities regulations and government compliance requirements. This team is nationally recognized for its work in private equity fund formation and is especially active in guiding SBICs through licensing and compliance.
This position is based in Chicago, DC, or New York (preference for Chicago). The team works on-site 3 days per week, with the first month fully in-office for onboarding and deal flow training. The role includes a 2-week ramp-up period, and attorneys benefit from a collaborative team of approximately 15 attorneys across multiple offices.

Our client, a top banking institution with offices in Tampa Florida, is seeking a Remote or Hybrid (2 days per week in office) temporary Contract Attorney focused on Compliance and Risk surrounding - Payments and Liquidity for a 12 month duration, 40 hours per week.
 
As part of the Client Solutions Team within our client's Services Legal department, the contractor will primarily be engaged in a client-facing role compromising of transactional work and providing broad-based advice on various issues and projects, for the Payments, Liquidity, Trade, and Investor and Issuer Services businesses. This role is responsible for managing a variety of day-to-day legal activities in coordination with the global Services Legal team and will be integral to the global Services Legal team, involving a wide range of transactional work in connection with account openings and product offerings across all five businesses within client Services.
The role will provide exposure to a wide range of legal work across a broad spectrum of products and services and will provide a unique opportunity to obtain insight into both Services products and the priorities and expectation of the business.
