POSITION OVERVIEW: KIPP DC is looking for a dynamic, committed and flexible mental health practitioner to become part of a vibrant educational community. KIPP DC mental health practitioners are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, interventions that are data driven. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm two times per week, and 7:30 am to 4:00 pm three times per week. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery 35%

<li>Provide group and individual therapy and classroom support to special education students, general education students, as well as assess student response to the interventions identified.</li>
<li>Respond to acute mental health crises and provide appropriate intervention services to students and families.</li>
<li>Develop and manage student behavior intervention plans, monitor progress, and provide support and consultation to general and special education teachers to promote implementation.</li>
<li>Conduct student and classroom observations to monitor individual student progress&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide on-going consultation to teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students’ learning, behavioral challenges, and mental health needs.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Conduct risk assessments when students present with safety concerns.</li>
<li>Acts as a team member who supports mental and behavioral health programming at the Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 levels of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).</li>

<li>Complete all necessary special education paperwork for special education meetings.</li>
<li>Log progress notes with all of the required information about the student’s specific IEP goals, responses to the designated interventions, and plan for upcoming sessions, in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Serve as 504 case manager for students with a 504 plan.&nbsp; Complete paperwork, monitor implementation of accommodations, provide behavior support services when applicable, and log notes when applicable.</li>
<li>Collect data to track plan fidelity and monitor progress towards goals for IEPs, Tier 3 plans, and BIPs.</li>
<li>Collects social/emotional &amp; behavioral functioning data for students in the referral process.&nbsp;</li>

<li>Consult and collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and student support team members to offer prevention and intervention strategies to resolve learning and behavioral challenges of students.</li>

Mental Health Practitioner salaries are exempt and start at $71,475 and increase with years of experience. Please see the salary scale here. Mental Health Practitioners can earn up to $5,000 in renewal add-ons to their base salary each year they return to KIPP DC.</li>
<li>KIPP DC offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurances; various voluntary benefits; and employer paid benefits such as short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, and a membership to One Medical.</li>

 Responsibilities

Provide individualized speech and language therapy to K12 students through engaging one-on-one and small group virtual sessions.

Conduct thorough online assessments to identify student needs and develop targeted intervention plans.
</li>
<li>
Write, implement, and monitor IEPs in alignment with Montana and federal guidelines.
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student growth.
</li>
<li>
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress, and IEP pliance.
</li>
<li>
Participate in virtual IEP and eligibility meetings as an active team member.
</li>
<li>
Use secure, interactive teletherapy platforms to keep sessions dynamic and effective.
</li>

 Requirements
<ul>
<li>
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
</li>
<li>
Active Montana SLP license
</li>
<li>
ASHA Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP)
</li>
<li>
2+ years of school-based experience preferred
</li>
<li>
Strong knowledge of IEP development, pliance, and delivery
</li>
<li>
Excellent munication skills and a collaborative mindset
</li>
<li>
fort and confidence using teletherapy technology
</li>
