<li>Renders emergency medical/surgical/mental health services as required.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Refers patients requiring hospitalization to a local hospital and to an appropriate admitting physician.&nbsp;</li>
<li>The incumbent provides clinical oversight and is responsible for all health care delivered.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Acts as a consultant for Advanced Practice Providers (APP), nurses, and clinical staff in the performance of their duties providing clinical oversight and direction.&nbsp;</li>
<li>The incumbent may have other licensed professionals (staff physicians, APPs, etc.) functioning under their license or privileging depending upon the situation.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Incumbent is responsible for the clinical oversight of provider teams and will provide input to the Clinical Director regarding team member's performance.&nbsp;</li>
<li>It is the incumbent's responsibility to consult with other health care providers to provide training and mentoring and to be directly involved with the evaluation and treatment of severely ill and medically complex patient care problems.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Consults with the Health Services Administrator /Clinical Director /Regional Clinical Director and other providers and specialists for complex medical and/or psychiatric patients as required by client policy.&nbsp;</li>
<li>For facilities with a medical housing unit, the incumbent will make rounds on patients admitted under their care with APPs and nursing personnel, as described in applicable local procedures. The incumbent will be required to provide on-call medical duty coverage as needed after regular work hours and may need to return to the facility to provide medical care if appropriate.&nbsp;</li>
<li>The incumbent shall constantly monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care, providing data to the departmental Continuous Quality Improvement, other agency units and, other agencies or committees as required.&nbsp;</li>
<li>May be asked to see patients on an interim basis who are not in the category of his/her expertise.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform his/her duties within a varied work setting. Both the medical and security designations of patients under the incumbent's care will vary depending upon site, with the work performed.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Makes recommendations on matters of policy, procedures, training, personnel, and equipment as related to specific area of responsibility.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Follows supervisory chain of command.&nbsp;</li>

Qualifications 
Basic Requirements/Certifications:&nbsp;&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Minimum of five years clinical practice with direct patient care preferred.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Have knowledge of a wide range of complex patient care concepts, principles, and practices to perform assessments of considerable diversity to include mental health, medical, surgical, ambulatory, and emergency care.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Flexibility and ability to adapt to sudden changes in schedules and work requirements. Assignments are usually of a long-term, recurring, or broadly defined nature.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills; strong writing skills to include document formulation, editing, and review.&nbsp;</li>
<li>U.S. Public Health Service Officers must comply with and obey all federal rules, regulations, policies, guidance, and established procedures that includes professional competence, readiness, and suitability.&nbsp;</li>
<li>All Employees shall have at least one year of general experience that demonstrates the following:&nbsp;

<li>The ability to greet and deal tactfully with the public.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations. All personnel shall be literate and be able to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials, and must be able to compose reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>

Education Required:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation or Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that is certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Evidence of board eligibility/certification is required in an appropriate primary care specialty (Internal medicine or family medicine) by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved board.&nbsp;</li>

Physical Requirements:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>This position is considered hazardous duty.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Required to walk unaided at a normal pace for up to 5 minutes and maintain balance.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Required to jog/fast walk up to ¼ mile.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Requires physical exertion such as lifting objects greater than 30 pounds.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Required to perform CPR/emergency care standing or kneeling.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must have the ability to assist sick, injured, or aging patients or staff exiting the building (may require lifting, dragging, wheeling, or carrying someone who weighs significantly more than self).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must be able to see, hear and smell with aids if necessary.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must be able to lift, push, or carry 30 pounds.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must perform the duties of my job in a stressful and often austere environment without physical limitations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Average manual dexterity for computer operation.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Phone or computer use for extended periods of time.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Other Special Qualifications:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 21 years of age.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must maintain current/physical residency in the continental U.S.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Pass a medical examination conducted by a licensed physician within 30 days prior to initial assignment.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Be a U.S. citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the U.S. for permanent residence.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Have resided in the U.S. for the last five years (unless abroad on official U.S. government duty).&nbsp;</li>
<li>Successfully engage in and complete a thorough Background Investigation.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Poses or have ability to obtain required security clearances.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.&nbsp;</li>

 Additional Information 
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation:&nbsp; Min:&nbsp; $45/hr&nbsp; &nbsp; Max:&nbsp; $55/hr
