POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs mammography operations to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains patient history, explains standard procedures, views prescreening form and addresses patient questions and concerns.
- Consistently produces quality screening and diagnostic mammograms.
- Assures that the completed exam is submitted with all required paperwork to the Radiologist.
- Assist the Radiologist with needle localizations.
- Displays a caring and compassionate demeanor when talking patients through the procedure.
- Follows proper patient and technologist safety while in the department.
- Participates in annual MQSA inspections
- Participates in in-service education and maintain the required number of annual CEU's for MQSA and state registration.
- Orders supplies.
- Float in x-ray to help with coverage as needed.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations, registries and licenses.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- Completion of ARRT in AMA approved school.
- Florida license
- Current AART registration with an additional mammography registry.
- Current American Heart Association recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- One year of mammography experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk or hear. This position on occasion will require you to lift objects up to 40lbs. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, balance, crouch or crawl. Ability to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of machines and computers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time position in an outpatient medical office setting. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some overtime and weekends may be required.
Travel: This position does not require any travel.
Work Environment: This position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance.
