POSITION SUMMARY: Bilingual Spanish
The Medical Billing/Claims Specialist is responsible for capturing, entering, and processing provider revenue-generating activity and ensuring timely receipt of corresponding patient/insurance company co-payments and reimbursements. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Medical Billing A/R Specialist must work closely with the Business Office Supervisor, clinic front desk staff, and finance staff. The Medical Billing A/R Specialist monitors all critical indicators and initiates corrective action when necessary.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Bilingual Spanish preferred
1. Captures and inputs daily provider activity (inpatient and outpatient) and ensures the accuracy and completion of charges, discounts (using current slide information) and over-the-counter payments (encounter/receipt log/deposit). Balances each batch and posts transaction to patient accounts.
2. Ensures timely reimbursement from insurance companies via prompt generation and submission of activity claims. Follows up on all insurance billings until resolved.
3. Applies patient payments to the appropriate charges.
4. Monitors reimbursement status of all accounts and resolves accounts with outstanding balances, including face-to-face, phone and written collection activities, establishing payment plans and identifying and counseling patients on payment issues, and recommending accounts for collection agency/court activity.
5. Monitors critical indicators regarding system performance as established by the Business Office Supervisor and Finance Director and works with clinic staff as needed to resolve any that are out of compliance.
6. Liaisons with patients, insurance companies, and providers to facilitate agreement on medical charges or payments, respond to questions and explain billing processes, and provide itemized statements and copies of insurance forms as requested. May refer written requests for additional information from insurance companies to appropriate providers.
7. Answers incoming billing phone calls in a courteous manner and documents action.
QUALIFICATIONS:
One year of experience in a medical billing setting, to include patient account billing, insurance processing, CPT and ICD-10 Coding, and computer skills required. Demonstrated excellent customer service (in-person and telephone), organizational and analytical skills required.
Fluent English/Spanish language skills, and prior inpatient billing and/or bookkeeping/accounting experience are preferred.

Requirements

<li>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred.</li>
<li>Previous experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable, but we will consider any experience working with children. We are looking for individuals who have experience working with children personally or professionally. This includes teachers and other educators, SPED professionals, babysitters, daycare/child care workers, camp counselors, coaches, and parents. If you are passionate about helping children meet their full potential, you may be a great fit!</li>
<li>Must possess at least intermediate computer skills and be able to efficiently use software to upload documents, complete required trainings, and document client progress using a tablet. </li>
<li>Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to therapy locations, such as clinics, homes, or schools.</li>
<li>Availability to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and occasional Saturdays.</li>
<li>Successful completion of a background check and any other required screenings.</li>

Job Description
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Responsibilities:

<li>Provide direct speech and language services to a caseload of 40 students.</li>
<li>Conduct assessments and collect data to inform instructional strategies and treatment plans.</li>
<li>Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).</li>
<li>Utilize evidence-based practices to support students with moderate speech and language disorders.</li>
<li>Monitor student progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as necessary.</li>
<li>Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
