Job Summary: 
To perform all registration responsibilities at Touchette Regional Hospital for patients seeking admission, emergency treatment, and/or outpatient services. This includes but is not limited to: order entry tasks, checking for Medical Necessity, and verifying insurance eligibility. This position also requires verifying charity eligibility, collecting insurance copayments, deductibles, and all other responsibilities associated with processing a patient visit.
Functions and Duties:

<li>Exhibits excellent customer service skills during any function of the registration process, including understanding when an interpreter is needed, providing patients with additional information regarding Medicare responsibilities, or more information regarding medical directives. </li>
<li>Assist in the flow of data between physicians, physician office staff, nursing floors, ancillary departments, emergency department, patient business services, insurance companies and patients while insuring patient confidentiality is not breached. </li>

<li>Verify that all tests pass Medicare Medical Necessity. In the event a test fails, ensures that the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) is created and presented to the patient along with an information sheet describing to the patient their options.</li>
<li>Ensure that the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire is accurately completed with the responses provided by the patient and adjust Medicare payment sequence when necessary.</li>
<li>Verify insurance eligibility for each patient using system program, and update the record to reflect any updated information or changes necessary. </li>
<li>Document any and all discrepancies in the patient record that affects insurance.</li>
<li>Confirm charity eligibility for all self-pay patients that meet hospital criteria and discuss the outcome with the patients. </li>

Certified Medical Coder
(Remote Production Role)

Main Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to): 
<ul>
<li>Meet minimum production goals while maintaining accuracy requirements</li>
<li>Review provider medical coding of services rendered for medical claim submission</li>
<li>Review and respond to medical coding inquiries submitted by providers and staff</li>
<li>Work directly with providers to resolve specific medical coding issues</li>
<li>Analyze data for errors and report data problems</li>
<li>Partner with billing office to correct and resubmit claims based on review of the records, provider input, and payor input</li>
<li>Work with clinical and non-clinical groups to identify undesirable coding trends</li>
<li>Ensure claims are medically coded consistently by following CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS rules and guidelines; escalate issues that may impact this immediately to the Compliance Committee</li>
<li>Abide by HIPAA and Coding Compliance standards</li>
<li>Collect data from various sources, maintain electronic records and logs, file paperwork, and operate office equipment</li>
<li>Accomplish other tasks as assigned</li>
</ul>

Other Duties That May be Assigned: 
<ul>
<li>Work hand in hand with partner facilities to verify resident stay status</li>
<li>Review patient information to assist in decision making process in regard to advance modalities</li>
<li>Coordinate with outside partners for advanced modalities</li>
</ul>

Skills required to succeed: 
<ul>
<li>Must live in one of the following states: WA, OR, ID, UT, AZ, TX, VA, FL, GA, PA, IA</li>
<li>2+ years coding</li>
<li>2+ years medical billing experience (preferred but not required)</li>
<li>Experience with insurance and revenue cycle management processes</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand insurance EOB’s</li>
<li>Proficient in reviewing edits between CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS codes</li>
<li>Experience in reviewing insurance review denials and payer policies</li>
<li>Professional coder certification through a recognized organization such as AAPC (preferred) or AHIMA</li>
<li>Leadership qualities with the ability to effectively educate providers remotely</li>
<li>Acute attention to detail with a strong, self-sufficient work ethic</li>
<li>Excellent organization and use of time management skills</li>
<li>Ability to prioritize workload and have a strong sense of urgency when time sensitive situations arise</li>
<li>Proficient with computers and navigating within multiple applications</li>
<li>Proficient in MS Office (specifically Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word)</li>
<li>Ability to collaborate with other UWH team members electronically via email, messaging, and telephone conferences</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication, as well as customer service skills; must be able to listen and communicate effectively with leadership, providers, and co-workers</li>
<li>Goal-oriented and a consistent performer</li>
<li>Must be self-motivated, punctual, dependable, and able to work independently</li>

Location: Remote – corporate office location in WA 
Compensation: $25.00 - $33.00 hourly - DOE and location 
This position is classified as: Hourly, Non-Exempt; Full-Time employment 
Hours: Typical hours are Monday through Friday; 7:30am – 4:00pm PST, (occasional overtime depending on claim volume)

We support the development of new detection capabilities that use a variety of remote sensing methodologies (EO/IR, Radar, Lidar, Chemical/Biological sensors, etc.). We are seeking outstanding applicants for our Engineer 2, Optical Systems position in Tucson, Arizona. The successful candidate will develop and execute engineering development projects which typically involve applying fundamental understanding of optical phenomena related to various sensor systems, developing performance models, designing optical hardware, and using basic mathematical methods to solve scientific and engineering problems. This position is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time role.
Primary responsibilities:

<li>Design, models, integrates, and tests optical sensor systems including visible and IR cameras, LIDAR systems, and optical test equipment. </li>
<li>Develops software for the purpose of testing and automating test procedures. </li>
<li>Works in conjunction with systems engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and software engineers to provide integrated design solutions for Arete’s customers. </li>

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $130,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.

Engineer 2, Optical Systems

Job Summary:
The Compounding Technician is responsible for staging and preparing all components for drug production in a clean-room environment. Technicians may also engage in compounding low to high-risk sterile products and filling patient orders, as authorized and under the supervision of the compounding pharmacist.
 
Job Activities and Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below are subject to change.
<ul>
<li>The compounding technician shall have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures. </li>
<li>Specifically noting the use of hormones and other potentially hazardous chemicals are used in non-sterile compounding. </li>
<li>Non-sterile compounding may include but is not limited to the compounding of capsules, liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, suppositories, troches, or tablet triturates. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Compounding may include sterile to sterile transfers, packaging, and labeling of one or more drugs. Position requires close attention to detail. Standards for potency, quality, purity, integrity, sterility, and endotoxin content must be consistently met.</li>
<li>Sterile compounding includes but is not limited to injections, ophthalmic and inhalation solutions.</li>
</ul>

<li>Compounding technician shall compound medication, fill and label prescriptions and pre-package bulk compounded medications in anticipation of prescription orders. </li>
<li>Compounding technician shall also monitor inventory levels for re-order of low inventory or expiring or expired chemicals or compounds, receive new inventory, maintain MSDS and Certificates of Analysis and perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning using appropriate disinfectants and techniques. </li>
<li>When working with hazardous or non-hazardous chemicals, the Compounding technician shall be familiar with the location of MSDS and review, as needed. </li>
<li>Environmental monitoring and validation testing shall be performed according to policies and procedures. </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Support daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the environment with appropriate disinfectants and techniques.</li>
<li>Initial and ongoing competency evaluation must be successfully completed as required in the policies and procedures Technicians work under the supervision of a pharmacist.</li>
</ul>

<li>Technicians shall work under the supervision of a pharmacist.</li>
<li>Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.</li>
</ul>
Minimum qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Must be registered with the State Board of Pharmacy.</li>
<li>Strong aseptic technique and hand-eye coordination</li>
<li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required</li>
<li>Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints</li>
</ul>
 
Physical Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Proficient in using a computer and related equipment, including printers and fax machines.</li>
<li>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.</li>
<li>Effective communication skills via telephone and email.</li>
<li>Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.</li>
<li>20/20 vision (with or without corrective aids) required for visual inspection of drug products, in accordance with legal requirements.</li>
