Key Functions:

Minimum Qualifications:

<li>2+ years of clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care highly preferred</li>
<li>ACLS and PALS Certification preferred</li>

Performs highly skilled technical and advisory work in the installation, maintenance, demonstration and repair of highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic imaging devices or systems. May perform general to advanced work on larger multi-component systems such as but not limited to: R&amp;F, CT, Cath, MRI,IR, NucMed.
Major Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment and systems utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques. Installs, calibrates and tests highly complex new imaging equipment and/or systems.</li>
<li>Responsibilities may include work on a mix of Biomedical and Diagnostic Imaging equipment, but majority of work will be related to complex Diagnostic Imaging equipment.</li>
<li>Performs any required general service on imaging equipment and systems, in accordance with corporate and department procedures, manufacturers recommendations, physicists’ specifications and/or other applicable codes, standards, accreditation requirements, and state and federal regulations as applicable regarding radiographic and diagnostic imaging equipment.</li>
<li>Interacts with clinical staff on a regular basis to ensure needs are being met.</li>
<li>Provides technical support and assistance to imaging staff in their use of highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic Imaging devices.</li>
<li>Acts as a technical resource for Biomedical Technicians and Imaging Technicians to help them grow in ability, responsibility, and experience.</li>
<li>Assists in grooming Biomedical Equipment Tech's to provide first call on imaging equipment.</li>
<li>Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment performed by self or a vendor.</li>
<li>Installs or assists in the installation of new imaging equipment, modifications, tubes, transformers, etc. Assists in the training of imaging staff on the safe and proper use of equipment. Interacts with manufacturers.</li>
<li>Representatives to obtain the necessary technical product information.</li>
<li>As applicable, coordinates and communicates with a radiation physicist as part of equipment quality assurance testing, calibration, and disposal for site licensing needs with the State department of public health.</li>
<li>May assist imaging staff in the selection process for new equipment purchases and installations, may assist with service contract negotiations. This may include site visits and/or meetings with equipment manufacturers. Makes recommendations for capital equipment replacements to Clinical Engineering Leadership.</li>
<li>Requests/orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships.</li>
<li>Escalates situations or questions beyond their scope of knowledge or responsibility to appropriate staff. Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to Imaging equipment maintenance and use. Assists in research projects and/or new Imaging equipment evaluations.</li>

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience Required:
Typically requires 2 years of experience in biomedical imaging, which includes digital imaging technology, and networking technology.

<li>Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products (primarily Word and Excel). Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of networking technology.</li>
