Position Responsibilities: Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples. Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution. Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos, which originated in 1923 as Hays County Soldiers, Sailors and Marines Memorial Hospital, opened at its current Wonder World Drive location in 1983.
