Exciting News!!! For the 2025-2026 School Year, Child and Family Focus is offering a $250 sign on bonus* for this position, to be paid in January of 2026! Child and Family Focus has partnered with DCIU to provide intensive behavioral and mental health supports to students placed in DCIU Aston Education Center, and The County Alternative High School (TCA). The position of the School Based Behavioral Technician will work with CFF team as well as DCIU teachers and staff in the classrooms to facilitate behavioral management and modification techniques. This position will work along with the students identified behavioral plans in an effort to decrease identified challenging behaviors.&nbsp; This is a 10-month position.&nbsp;The school day&nbsp;work hours are 7:30am-3pm M-F.&nbsp; Please note that this position is for the 2025–2026 school year, with an anticipated start date of 8/25/2025.
Qualifications: 
Individuals who provide Individual Services through Intensive Behavioral Health Counseling services shall meet one of the following:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in&nbsp;counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, education, criminal justice, or other related&nbsp;human services field </li>
<li>OR a Licensed Registered Nurse a. PLUS one (1) year verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents</li>
<li>OR a Bachelor’s degree in another field&nbsp;a. PLUS one (1) year verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents</li>
<li>OR an Associate’s degree or sixty (60) credits toward a bachelor’s degree a. PLUS three (3) years verified full-time paid work experience working in direct care with children/adolescents</li>
</ul>
Job Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Provide 1-to-1 support to the child, as well as educational team to address the therapeutic needs of the child, youth, or young adult using behavioral interventions and strategies as outlined in the student’s behavioral plan in the school setting.</li>
<li>Support problem-solving and skill development of the child, youth, or young adult. </li>
<li>Instruct children on how to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations. </li>
<li>Support the development of improved decision-making skills to manage behavior. </li>
<li>Assist with the development of social skills and socially acceptable behaviors. </li>
<li>Instruct on stress reduction techniques. </li>
<li>Collect behavioral data. </li>
<li>Collaborate with team members including but not limited to: CFF School Based Outpatient team at DCIU, CFF School Based Behavioral Health team, DCIU administrators and educators, outside service providers, and parents/care givers. </li>
<li>Consult and obtain supervision biweekly.</li>
<li>Submit necessary proof of service delivery and billing documentation within the required timeframe.</li>
<li>Document case activity using an EMR system within the required timeframe.&nbsp; </li>
<li>Participate in group supervisions monthly.</li>
<li>Use and implement the 5 core values of Trauma-Informed Care in all work practices - Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, &amp; Empowerment.</li>
<li>Complete other duties as assigned</li>

 About the team A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in supporting students with speech, language, and communication challenges. They assess and diagnose issues such as articulation, language delays, stuttering, and social communication difficulties. The SLP works closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop individualized plans that promote student success in both the classroom and social settings. Through targeted therapy and interventions, they help students improve their communication skills, enhance academic performance, and build confidence in their ability to engage with peers and teachers. About the Role While SLPs focus on the specific needs of their assigned schools, they are also part of a larger network of SLPs within the region. This network allows for collaboration, sharing of resources, and professional development opportunities, ensuring consistency in service delivery and access to a broader range of expertise and support across schools. Location and Type of Work This is an exempt position and will report to the Director of Student Support. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support which requires this position to be fully on-site. This role is currently required to be on-site or in schools during regular work hours. Responsibilities
Service Delivery: 70%&nbsp;

<li>Provide speech and language therapy to special education students in groups and as individuals per their Individual Education Plans</li>
<li>Provide intervention to students through response to intervention including small groups and classroom intervention</li>
<li>Serve students with swallowing disorders as it relates to the school setting</li>
<li>Provide appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language impairments</li>
<li>Conduct speech, language and hearing screenings</li>
<li>Conduct speech/language evaluations</li>
<li>Case manage students (this is especially common for speech only, ECE and Elementary students)</li>
</ul>
Stakeholder Management: 20%
<ul>
<li>Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech, language and literacy development</li>
<li>Participate in Multidisciplinary team meetings and responsibilities. Attend meetings, write progress summaries on present levels of performance, and propose IEP goals.</li>
<li>Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments</li>
<li>Assist in the proper referrals of students to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate</li>
<li>Keep thorough records for each student receiving therapy or other school provided speech-language services</li>
<li>Participate in case conferences to discuss student goals and plans</li>
