Here is what you will be doing:

<li>Responsible for performing assigned procedures including: electrocardiogram testing (EKG); wound cleansing and bandaging, vital sign measurements, specimen collection, intraosseous placement, bladder (Foley) catherization, and ultrasound intravenous placement.</li>
<li>Provide point of care testing including blood glucose, troponin, chem 8, and lactic acid.</li>
<li>Assist providers and nurses with patient exam and sterile procedures.</li>
<li>Perform fiberglass splints.</li>
<li>Provide training for orthopedic devices including crutch training, splint and sling care; perform orthopedic device care and cleaning. </li>
<li>Remove sutures and staples from wounds as directed.</li>
<li>Room patients and assist in monitoring condition; provides patient updates as warranted to appropriate healthcare provider.</li>
<li>Respond to traumas and codes to provide intubation assistance and compressions.</li>
<li>Responsible for cleaning and stocking supplies in patient rooms and department. </li>
<li>Document patient care and condition as appropriate. </li>
<li>Provide oxygen delivery including nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal adjuncts. </li>

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:

<li>Performs all assigned therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician including but not limited to: basic respiratory therapy and oxygen therapy including daily oxygen rounds, optiflow titrations, pulse oximetry monitoring to determine oxygen titration needs and arranging for home oxygen therapy. Bronchodilator therapy including protocols and patient assessment. Acts as a backup for the performance of EKGs.</li>
<li>Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for the pediatric floor. Job duties include but are not limited to daily (morning) pulse oximetry and titration, bronchodilator therapy, RSV protocol, asthma protocols and education, and oxygen therapy. Performs therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in the nursery including but not limited to: oxygen hood, nasal CPAP and ventilator management in both invasive and non-invasive modes. Must attend a minimum of 3 normal child births during orientation</li>
<li>Verifies physician order for therapy to assure that the order is complete and appropriate. </li>
<li>Documents appropriately and completely in patient’s record and department records according to department and hospital policies.</li>
<li>Performs arterial blood gas sampling by direct puncture or arterial line. Analyzes ABG and co-oximetery results and makes educated oxygenation and ventilation decisions. </li>
<li>Performs quality control, proficiency testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of blood gas analyzer.</li>
<li>Assists in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation efforts and/or other emergencies that utilize respiratory care procedures for patient care.</li>
<li>Maintains professional growth by presenting internal and/or external in-service programs, pursuing further certification or registries and reading appropriate magazines and journals.</li>
<li>Must attend 80% of department meetings </li>
</ul>

Here is what you will be doing:
<ul>
<li>Performs and/or assists in performing procedures by following physician orders.</li>
<li>Performs all ultrasound examinations, ensuring all studies meet the established standards of the radiologist, radiation oncologist and other involved referring physician to include: abdominal, vascular, obstetrics and gynecology, superficial structures, neonatal brains, intraoperative and guidance procedures along with utilizing plethysmography.</li>
<li>Assists physician in performing designated procedures ensuring all studies meet the standards of the Radiologist or performing Physician: thoracentesis, needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc.</li>
<li>Scans patient, marks patient body, determines angle for puncture, and assists as necessary.</li>
<li>Provides appropriate information to patient and family during exams to provide a calming influence throughout the study.</li>
<li>Performs all quality control procedures required, including surveys, quality control tests and other procedures required by federal regulations and the medical physicist.</li>
<li>Maintains standards on equipment for accrediting by state and/or federal agencies.</li>
<li>Ensures that all preventive maintenance occurs as scheduled; provides leadership with information regarding all equipment failures.</li>
<li>Maintains a positive work environment by demonstrating positive interpersonal relations with co-workers, physicians, patients and others.</li>
<li>Participates in call as required.</li>

<li>Graduate of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology or current ARDMS license</li>
<li>Eligibility for ARDMS or ARRT registry in ultrasound – must be completed within 12 months of hire date</li>
<li>Cheyenne Regional RQI within 14 calendar days of start date</li>
