The College of Science is seeking a Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. The Research Development Unit (RDU) within the College of Science is focused on accelerating research growth by leveraging college resources to encourage faculty to address grand societal research challenges and target funding opportunities to increase the size and number of competitive research grants in alignment with the Oregon State University’s <a href="https://leadership.oregonstate.edu/strategic-plan" target="_blank">Strategic Plan SP4.0</a>, the college’s diversity action plan, <a href="https://science.oregonstate.edu/diversity-plan" target="_blank">Embedding Equity, Access and Inclusion</a>, and the College of Science’s <a href="https://science.oregonstate.edu/our-college/strategic-plan-2015-to-2020" target="_blank">Strategic Plan.</a> The RDU designs and implements services, using an equity, access and inclusion (EAI) lens to help faculty, staff and student investigators succeed in obtaining and maintaining intramural funding within Oregon State University (OSU), and extramural funding from federal agencies and foundation grants. &nbsp; The Program Coordinator is a member of the Research Development Unit working on complex projects, collaborating with faculty, staff, and researchers across the college and university. The Coordinator will report to the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies (Associate Dean) and collaborate with the Associate Dean and Director of Research Development (Director) to manage, administer and grow the programs within the Unit. The Coordinator will collaborate on activities across the unit and provide strategic input in several areas to increase the success of our research enterprise. Responsibilities include providing leadership and oversight within the Research Development Unit to manage projects, track and report research activities, develop and maintain databases of college proposal submissions and awards, provide data analysis and prepare quarterly reports of proposal submission and award progress in collaboration with the Associate Dean and Director. The Coordinator will collaboratively and independently design and implement workshops and other events and projects to support and enhance our research enterprise and portfolio. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Associate Dean and Director to develop metrics, including EAI metrics to assess our research, innovation seed-funding and outreach activities. Serves as backup to the proposal support staff and provides mentorship and guidance as needed. This includes assisting faculty with proposal preparation and submission from inception to submission. The Position: The Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (Provost &amp; VPAA/SA) provides vital, creative, and adaptable leadership to the academic enterprise at Southern Oregon University (SOU). This position plays a key role in institutional planning and strategy, in forging community partnerships, and in advancing SOU’s presence in the region, state, and nation. The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA has a significant duty in representing SOU to the Southern Oregon University Board of Trustees, engaging with the Oregon Provosts Council, and participating in the Oregon Council of Presidents. This person is responsible for articulating a vision and direction for Academic and Student Affairs and effectively communicating that vision to the campus community. The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA reports directly to the president and collaborates with the other vice presidents to execute the president's leadership agenda. The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA oversees all of the academic schools at SOU and the services that support them, as well as the university’s portfolio of student support and success services. This leader is responsible for guiding academic and enrollment planning and shaping the student body through an institutional strategy for recruitment, admission, retention, advising and educational partnerships. Effective performance requires an in-depth understanding of the university’s mission and its various programs, and a commitment to work effectively within a shared decision-making environment (i.e., Faculty Senate, Staff Assembly, and the faculty union). Responsibilities:

<li>Lead Academic Affairs, establish and communicate a strong academic vision while promoting a culture of shared governance (40%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA is the Chief Academic Officer of SOU and provides leadership and robust support for the faculty, academic schools, and the library at SOU. Duties include, but are not limited to: support and promote teaching, scholarship, and community engagement activities; administer contracts; supervise and evaluate the academic directors and faculty personnel roster; launch faculty development programs; assess recruitment and hiring priorities; oversee the promotion and tenure process, faculty appointments, merit salary increases, and sabbatical leaves; respond to faculty grievances; support program review and assessment of the learning enterprise; guide various programs including instructional services, off-campus and continuing education programs, summer session, inter-institutional programs, various galleries and collections, and all that is necessary to support coursework, research, and intellectual exploration associated with the university’s intellectual life; give direction to research, grants and sponsored programs, and other creative endeavors; maintain effective channels of communication with the President, faculty, and Faculty Senate; serve as strategist in the faculty collective bargaining enterprise; and create a culture of collective ownership and accountability while collaborating on decision-making processes quickly and effectively.</li>
<li>Lead Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (25%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA is the Chief Enrollment Officer responsible for the executive leadership, strategic planning, and administrative oversight for all operations and support functions associated with the recruitment, retention, and engagement of students. Duties include, but are not limited to: foster creative thinking that builds on SOU’s strong tradition as a student-centered institution; guide strategic efforts to address issues related to student development, health and wellness, success, equity, and retention; address issues related to the review, implementation, improvement, and enhancement of policies, procedures, and program-specific services; and oversee Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Admissions and Recruitment to ensure efficiency in operations that drive enrollment growth that aligns with institutional goals.</li>
<li>External Outreach (10%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA partners with the president to implement SOU’s mission, vision, core values, and strategic directions in a manner that realizes growth that enhances student learning opportunities and positively impacts financial and economic development. This position develops and cultivates public-private partnerships with local, regional, and statewide business and industry.</li>
<li>Accreditation (10%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA administers activities related to the accreditation and the external review of SOU and its schools, departments, and programs. This position ensures compliance with various academic disciplines and their respective accreditation agencies.</li>
<li>Budget &amp; Resources (10%) The Provost &amp; VPAA/SA designs effective budget models for Academic and Student Affairs. This position analyzes financial information to include revenues and expenditures to ensure all operations are within budget; develops long-range planning and budget priorities; and provides supervision, evaluation and professional development for administrative and support staff.</li>

Working within a team, the Electronic Resources Librarian is responsible for the acquisition, receipt, maintenance, and renewal of electronic resources for the library. The Electronic Resources Librarian resolves electronic access problems, performs regular cleanup of data, and maintains records related to the library’s e-resources. Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Theatre - Performance Studies, Theatre History/Historiography

Manages the delivery of all academic advising for undeclared students and leads&nbsp;the development, administration, and evaluation of advising and new cadet transition programs. The appointee will provide instruction in Welsh to graduate students in the Celtic and other departments and supervise the teaching of Brittonic languages by visiting faculty and graduate Teaching Fellows.&nbsp; Candidates must be prepared to supervise PhD dissertations in the department on a wide range of topics, and to serve on the dissertation committees of students who are not their primary advisees.&nbsp; The appointee will also contribute to the undergraduate curriculum though courses in Harvard’s General Education and/or First Year Seminar programs as well as elective courses, and will be expected to develop innovative courses in Celtic studies more generally as well as on Welsh topics at both undergraduate and graduate levels.&nbsp;

Founded in 2022, the Department of Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity (RDI) is home to an interdisciplinary group of scholars whose work engages the conceptual pillars of the unit. RDI is housed in the Social Sciences at the University but is committed to working across the social sciences, humanities, sciences, professional schools, and the arts to build a truly interdisciplinary, outward-facing department. RDI values community-engaged and informed work. We currently offer a robust undergraduate curriculum (including a major and a minor) and are preparing to launch a doctoral certificate. The Cluster Hire in Indigenous Studies

The incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the Vice-President (Academic Affairs), and functionally under the Head of Port Management. As a faculty member at the World Maritime University, the Assistant Professor is expected to provide teaching/mentoring and research and publication and promote inter-university cooperation in areas related to maritime economics and management.
The Assistant Professor of Maritime Economics and Management is expected to contribute to the overall efforts of WMU to strengthen the economics component in its academic programmes.
