St. Mary's University seeks nominations, expressions of interestand applications in the search for its 14th president to lead thishistoric institution with a vision of academic excellence for thecommon good. Founded in 1852, St. Mary's was the first institutionof higher learning in the dynamic city of San Antonio, Texas, andis the oldest Catholic university in the Southwest. It enrolls morethan 3,300 students in 75 programs, including doctoral and lawprograms. In 2013, the University reaffirmed its identity as aCatholic and Marianist liberal arts institution, with the goal ofbeing one of the finest private universities in the region. St.Mary's serves as a gateway for graduates to their professionallives as ethical leaders in Texas, the nation and the world.

St. Mary's University is located on a 135-acre campus in northwestSan Antonio, the seventh-largest city in the U.S. and thesecond-largest city in Texas, with nearly 1.5 million residents.The campus offers a blend of historic beauty and modern facilities.With an 11-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio, students receivepersonalized attention from dedicated faculty. The four academicunits of the University are the College of Arts, Humanities andSocial Sciences; the Greehey School of Business; the School ofScience, Engineering and Technology; and the School of Law.

The next president of St. Mary's University will join a communityproud of its success and eager to write the next chapter. Theinstitution has earned a strong reputation for student access andsuccess, as well as a deep sense of community. The next president will be a practicingCatholic with an earned terminal degree; a demonstrated trackrecord of successful organizational leadership at the senior level;and an expressed willingness to embrace and advance the St. Mary'score Marianist values.
