 EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

<li>Licensure as a Physician Assistant in NY State with a minimum of five (5) years of recent clinical experience practicing as a PA. </li>

The multidisciplinary Social Science Department at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY is seeking a psychologist with teaching experience for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. Fellows teach age-appropriate gardening lessons to a group of 12 children with the help of two to three teen apprentices from our Garden Apprentice Program. Prior to each teaching season, fellows participate in a comprehensive paid training program, covering seasonal content, pedagogy, and horticultural skills. 
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is looking to hire five Children’s Garden fellows to teach in our Children’s Garden. This is a seasonal position from March 17 to October 31, 2026. The commitment is10 hours per week in the spring and fall, and 22–30 hours per week in the summer. During spring and fall, the schedule is Friday and Saturday. During summer, the schedule is Tuesday through Friday.

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Lead an age-based group (ages 6–7, 8–10, or 11–13) of 12 children in hands-on gardening instruction in a half-acre food garden. </li>
<li>Mentor two to three teen apprentices and program assistant who assist instructors with their group.</li>
<li>Develop age- and seasonally appropriate lesson plans and lead supplementary enrichment activities, such as seasonal cooking, nature crafts, nature exploration, or science experiments.</li>
<li>Ensure that assigned garden plots are maintained according to weekly task lists (including planting, weeding, mulching, watering, and more). </li>
<li>Lead activity stations for Family Gardening Hours, a program for children of all ages and adult caregivers. </li>
<li>Assist in teaching other education programs as needed.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Formal or nonformal experience teaching children, ideally in a classroom or outdoor setting</li>
<li>Passion for plants and gardening</li>
<li>Horticulture experience preferred but not required</li>
<li>Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions</li>
<li>Outgoing and welcoming personality; responsible, punctual, and professional</li>
<li>Experience and comfort working with a diverse group of youth and staff </li>
<li>Willingness to incorporate constructive feedback into lesson planning, garden maintenance, and teaching practice</li>

Position Summary:
New York Edge is seeking highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsible individuals to join our team as SEL Coaches. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about supporting students' social and emotional development within an urban educational environment. To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed the Home of Little Wanderers Mental Health First Aid Certification Program.
As an SEL Coach, you will participate in the year-round New York Edge SEL Train-the-Trainer program, provided by ACT (Mosaic), the Home of Little Wanderers, and the Teach Rock Harmony Program. You will be matched with a portfolio of sites to support the implementation of SEL programming during afterschool hours, ensuring that each site administers pre- and post-assessments and utilizes the Mosaic by ACT curriculum effectively.
In this role, you will collaborate with program staff, teachers, and other stakeholders to manage an SEL referral system, connecting students and parents to appropriate supports, including individual and group therapy, counseling, and additional family resources. You will also work alongside a team of certified clinicians to monitor and support your assigned portfolio of sites.

● Provide referrals for counseling support to students and families, both individually and in group settings.
● Support the assessment of child mental health needs and implement short-term, frequent, and strategic interventions.
