Position Overview
Dedicated Aides are assigned to work with a specific scholar(s) with a disability. They work to provide classroom-based support and intense case management to our students both in and outside of the general education setting. The support of the Dedicated Aide will allow scholars with disabilities to be educated alongside nondisabled scholars to the maximum extent appropriate. Dedicated Aides accompany the scholar to all classes during the school day, implement the scholar’s behavior plan, provide individualized attention and instruction during academic periods, and support them during other portions of the day, as determined by the Individualized Education Plan.
 
Some of the more common reasons for this type of support include (1) protection/safety of the scholar, (2) instructional support, (3) transition, and (4) reduction of anxiety for the scholar. Job Summary
The Assistant Program Director position is a vitally important one within Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day as the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Program Director in the day-to-day operations at one of our Early Learning + Extended Day programs. Summary: Position will provide and support participant assessment, training, coaching, and job readiness services. Supervise and/or provide direct employment services to both funded and un-funded program participants earning commensurate or non-commensurate wages. Experience working with persons with disabilities/disadvantages preferred. Must pass background.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
<ul>
<li>Assist with screening of referrals for appropriate program and service options, as appropriate.</li>
<li>Establish and maintain good working relationships with participants, referral agencies, and all team members.</li>
<li>Ensure all paperwork and related activities are current, accurate, in compliance and timely. Includes case notes, service reports, and time studies (if applicable).</li>
<li>Provide hands on training, direct supervision, and support to participants at a variety of work locations.</li>
<li>Gather accurate data needed to fulfill reporting requirements, to include work behaviors and productivity.</li>
<li>Make recommendations to supervisory staff on necessary changes in policy or management style.</li>
<li>Assist with orientation of new referrals.</li>
<li>Assist participants in achieving the highest level of independent functioning while receiving services.</li>
<li>Thoroughly review intake, service plan, and supporting documentation for each participant. Assist with developing said items, as requested.</li>
<li>Perform job and task analysis.</li>
<li>Monitor and record participant progress to ensure goals and objectives are met.</li>
<li>Stay informed of current wage trends and job coaching techniques.</li>
<li>Explain and demonstrate tasks according to employer expectations. Work with participants on a variety of tasks to ensure individual understands job duties, and tasks are achievable.</li>
<li>Ability to perform all work tasks supervised. May work a variety of shifts and locations, including weekends and evenings, depending upon assignment.</li>
<li>Provide services in accordance with all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries; CARF standards; and principles of safety while protecting both personnel and property.</li>
<li>Work with staff to develop, monitor, and resolve skills training, vocational, or behavioral issues.</li>
<li>Assist with providing and recommending job accommodations, to include assistive technology needs.</li>
<li>Provide support to participant to assist in achieving all vocational and non-vocational goals.</li>
<li>Model and train appropriate work behaviors and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Provide training using multiple methods, to reach all learning styles.</li>
<li>Assist in developing natural supports for participants.</li>
<li>Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.</li>
<li>Comply with all health, safety and fire standards and all local, state and federal regulations (WISHA &amp; OSHA).</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned</li>
