Position Overview
Dedicated Aides are assigned to work with a specific scholar(s) with a disability. They work to provide classroom-based support and intense case management to our students both in and outside of the general education setting. Responsibilities:Manage Compartiendo Esperanza and de Familia a Familia programs, including recruiting and supporting volunteers (in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator) for all NAMI Clackamas programs offered in Spanish, scheduling presentations, and conducting outreach.Plan and execute targeted outreach and networking activities focused on Clackamas County residents whose language of choice is Spanish.Conduct intensive, ongoing outreach into the Latinx community, with emphasis on Clackamas County residents, to develop opportunities for educational activities, as well as to identify program partner organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.Adapt, develop, and translate outreach materials appropriate for the Spanish-speaking community with the goal of informing them about mental illness and NAMI programs and available resources for persons seeking support, education, and advocacy for themselves or loved ones.Identify and recruit appropriate Latinx members for the NAMI Clackamas Board of Directors, program volunteers, and other leadership positions as needed.Provide support to Development &amp; Outreach Coordinator in securing funding for NAMI Clackamas programs, particularly those offered in Spanish.Develop articles in Spanish for the NAMI Clackamas newsletter and email blasts, including writing original pieces and translating articles originally written in English.Increase the number of Spanish-speaking NAMI members, volunteers, clients, and people who receive NAMI Clackamas newsletters and email blasts.Provide limited one-on-one support and advocacy for people who identify Spanish as their language of choice.Recommend ways to address barriers to mental health services for Latinx community members and to enhance NAMI and general mental health services. Program Management:Manage NAMI Clackamas Spanish language programming including logistics, volunteers (in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator), and promotion (in partnership with the Development &amp; Outreach Coordinator).Serve as the internal and external point person for NAMI Clackamas Spanish language programs and outreach.Support program volunteers – including assisting with technology and regularly visiting classes, support groups, and presentations – to encourage volunteer satisfaction and retention.
