The Lead Teacher is responsible for the academic, social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical growth and development of all children in their classroom. This may include infants, toddlers and/or preschool age children. The Lead Teacher develops partnerships with birth parents and/or guardians to engage and encourage parent participation in program. The Lead Teacher develops weekly lesson plans according to Creative Curriculum and implements age appropriate activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of childrens development in their care. The Lead Teacher provides a safe physical and developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the childrens learning and growth.
 
 
What does this job do specifically?

<li>Perform on-going developmental assessments using ASQs and Teaching Strategies Gold of children.</li>
<li>Engage in intentional interactions with children in teaching and learning.</li>
<li>Write required reports/keep accurate and orderly records timely.</li>
<li>Provide guidance and direction to assigned Assistant Teacher(s), and/or Volunteer(s) ensuring that they demonstrate a participating role within their assigned group of children.</li>
<li>Participate effectively in all mandatory professional meetings including admission, review, parent conferences and in-service professional development as requested by the Center Director.</li>
<li>Work effectively with parents, other staff and colleagues.</li>
<li>Use positive guidance when addressing childrens behavior in the classroom. </li>
<li>Plan, organize, set up, supervise and clean up planned activities that stimulate childrens curiosity and abilities. </li>
<li>Support National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) best practices and guidelines.</li>
<li>Represent Everstand by being responsive, caring and informative in communication with parents, other teaching staff and the organization at large.</li>
<li>Resolve conflicts quickly and involves supervisor and or other management members when appropriate.</li>

What experience and education do I need?

Salary Range: $160,000 to $180,000

Trinity in Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks a Dean for the School of Nursing and Health Professions (NHP). The Dean is the chief academic and administrative leader for the school, providing strategic vision, academic oversight, and operational management for a diverse portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs. Enrolling about 300 students, NHP includes undergraduate programs in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Public Health, and Social Work, as well as graduate programs in Counseling, Occupational Therapy, and Public Health. The Dean is responsible for fostering academic excellence, supporting faculty and student success, strengthening external partnerships, and advancing the Trinity’s commitment to social justice, health equity, and community engagement.

Reporting to the Provost and supervising a staff including 19 full-time faculty and 13 administrative staff as well as adjunct faculty as needed, the Dean is responsible to oversee the design and development of academic programs, ensuring that all programs meet accreditation and regulatory standards including CCNE, ACOTE, CACREP, CSWE and the D.C. Board of Nursing. The Dean leads faculty hiring and assessment along with faculty professional development. The Dean is responsible to manage the unit budget and to steward significant gifts and grants supporting the unit’s programs and students. With the faculty, the Dean also builds and sustains strong partnership relationships for clinical placements and career pathways with healthcare systems, clinical agencies, community organizations and governmental partners throughout the Washington region.

Candidates must present an earned doctorate in a field in which Trinity has a program including nursing, public health, counseling, occupational therapy, social work, or closely related health professions fields. Candidates should also present an academic track record that includes (a) experience as a faculty member in a related academic program, and (b) at least 3 years of successful experience as a dean or equivalent senior academic administrator, and (c) scholarly and professional achievements supporting appointment at the most senior level. Experience with interprofessional healthcare education is a plus. Along with the academic credentials, candidates should also present at least three years of clinical experience in one of the major fields in Trinity’s curriculum. Experience with the healthcare systems in the Washington region is an advantage. Candidates must also have demonstrated success managing a diverse workforce to satisfy professional expectations and to achieve goals across all programs.
