Description:
Position will be fully onsite. Position will require the candidate to also travel to other client sites such as Minnetonka and St. Paul.
This position is Nonexempt.
Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half. Analyzes verbal or statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professional workers in a variety of scientific or engineering areas.
May be proficient in qualitative and/or quantitative lab methods.
Includes all levels of education and experience. 1-4 years experience required or a BS degree.
Supports engineering and scientific personnel in laboratory testing, product development, and characterization activities.
Performs hands-on bench work including test setup, sample preparation, execution of test protocols, operation of laboratory equipment, data collection, and documentation of results. Maintains accurate records in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
Assists with device characterization, verification testing, and process development activities. Maintains laboratory organization and equipment readiness and works collaboratively with cross-functional team members to achieve project objectives.
Specifically, we're seeking candidates with experience supporting in vitro preclinical testing, following laboratory protocols, collecting and documenting data, and working in a regulated lab environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a related technical field, or 1–4 years of experience in a laboratory, R&D, testing, or manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Ability to follow written procedures and work independently and/or with team on routine assignments.
Job Description
The R&D Technician will support laboratory and product development activities for medical technologies through the execution of experimental studies and generation of high-quality scientific data. Responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, operating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, preparing test samples, collecting data with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, analyzing results, and preparing technical reports, study plans, and other documentation. The role also supports device characterization, verification testing, process development activities, and maintenance of laboratory organization and equipment readiness.
The ideal candidate is scientifically minded, detail-oriented, and motivated by hands-on laboratory work. They possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills, are capable of quickly learning new experimental methods, and are committed to generating reliable, reproducible, and well-documented results. This individual must work effectively both independently and collaboratively, partnering closely with technicians, engineers, and scientists on data collection and testing activities. We are seeking a team-oriented professional who is dependable, proactive, pleasant to work with, and committed to maintaining a positive and productive laboratory environment.
Education and/ or Experience Requirements
Preferred experience in a laboratory, R&D, testing, medical device, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other related technical environment.
Must be easy to work with and willing to work in a team environment.
Preferred Associate's degree, bachelor’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Demonstrated experience executing experiments, collecting and documenting data, and operating laboratory or test equipment.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret experimental results and generate reliable, high-quality data.
Experience analyzing data and preparing technical reports, study documentation, or protocols is preferred.
Ability to quickly learn new experimental methods and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to producing accurate, reproducible, and well-documented results.
Mandatory skill sets
Hands-on laboratory testing and experimental execution.
Ability to collect, document, and organize experimental data with a high degree of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret results and identify trends, observations, and potential issues.
Experience operating laboratory or test equipment and following established procedures, protocols, and SOPs.
Ability to generate reliable, reproducible, and well-documented experimental results.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
Strong written communication and documentation skills.
Ability to learn new techniques, methods, and technologies quickly.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong organizational skills, scientific curiosity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
