Summary
The Flight Equipment Mechanic provides inspection, maintenance, repair, and quality assurance for Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) and related flight equipment used by Marine Corps and Navy personnel at MCAS New River. This role ensures all assigned equipment is serviceable, safe, and compliant with applicable technical manuals, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) standards, and Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) requirements.
 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Inspect, maintain, and repair ALSS equipment including, but not limited to:
<ul>
<li>Survival vests, oxygen masks, helmets, harnesses, and flotation devices</li>
<li>Ejection seat components and parachute systems</li>
<li>Anti-G suits and personal survival equipment</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Perform packing and repacking of parachutes in accordance with established guidelines.</li>
<li>Conduct functional tests, troubleshoot issues, and replace defective parts.</li>
<li>Document all maintenance actions in OOMA/NALCOMIS in compliance with Navy and Marine Corps standards.</li>
<li>Maintain accountability and inventory of assigned tools and equipment.</li>
<li>Serve as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR) when designated, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.</li>

Required Qualifications
