Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Mechanic is to maintain, service, and repair the company’s mechanical equipment, including pumps, generators, and related equipment.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Service, repair, and maintain the company’s fleet and mechanical equipment</li>
<li>Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and execute necessary repairs</li>
<li>Complete necessary service and maintenance on all equipment</li>
<li>Perform quality checks on repaired equipment</li>
<li>Perform manual disassembly and assembly of pumping equipment and mechanisms</li>
<li>Repair and maintain submersible and centrifugal pumps as well as generators</li>
<li>Maintain service order process, including providing descriptions of repairs on maintenance on mechanical equipment's; file appropriate documentation as required</li>
<li>Keep work area clean and organized for enhanced shop operations</li>
<li>Maintain accurate service records on all equipment serviced</li>
<li>Dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with company and regulatory agency requirements</li>
<li>Adhere to applicable company and regulatory agency environmental, health and safety standards</li>
<li>Ensure that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in the service and repair of large equipment preferred</li>
<li>Bilingual - Fluent in both English and Spanish</li>
<li>Degree or certificate in diesel or heavy-duty repairs or related field desired</li>
<li>Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects</li>
<li>Proficient in utilizing current technology to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment</li>
</ul>

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>
<li>Vocational or technical school certification in the related work field is preferred.</li>
<li>ASE, ICAR, or related certification preferred.</li>

Experience, knowledge, and skills required: 
<ul>
<li>At least two (2) years of experience working in a heavy-duty fleet shop, and or automotive shop that specializes in light and heavy vehicle repair or related duties; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.</li>
<li>Able to use good judgment and sound decision-making while handling multiple situations.</li>
<li>Must be dependable and punctual to work as scheduled.</li>
<li>Possesses considerable working knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools.</li>
<li>Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills which include speaking, writing clearly, and communicating effectively.</li>
<li>Requires the ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods.</li>
<li>Requires the ability to carry or lift objects that could weigh up to 75 lbs.</li>

Accurately diagnose, repair, and maintain all parts and components on heavy duty trailing equipment in a timely manner and quality fashion, including but not limited to the following:
