Mobile Fleet Technician Opportunity Summary:

The Mobile Fleet Technician is responsible for performing on-site preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks at customer locations. This role demands technical proficiency, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to work independently in various environments and weather conditions. The technician will ensure compliance with DOT standards and internal repair quality expectations.

Job Duties:
\n
<ul>
<li>Perform quality repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines and heavy-duty trucks per manufacturer specifications.</li>
<li>Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify damaged, worn, or broken parts.</li>
<li>Create and execute job repair plans based on diagnostics, including estimating labor hours and required parts.</li>
<li>Diagnose and repair electrical systems, A/C systems, emissions controls, and other diesel engine components.</li>
<li>Complete PM services, DOT inspections, and documentation accurately and thoroughly.</li>
<li>Use diagnostic software and follow electronic repair procedures.</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and safe work area, both on customer sites and in the company vehicle</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records for invoicing and warranty claims.</li>
<li>Utilize company tools appropriately and maintain a personal tool inventory per company policy.</li>
<li> Support and train junior technicians as needed.</li>
<li> Adhere to all safety, EPA, and company policies.</li>

Work Experience and Qualifications:
\n
Experience: 3+ years of diesel repair experience; 5–7 years preferred in fleet, dealership, or mobile technician environments.
\n
Education: Certificate from a technical school or equivalent hands-on experience.
\n
Certifications (preferred or required):
\n
<ul>
<li>Valid Driver’s License</li>
<li>DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain)</li>
<li>ASE Certifications: T4 (Brakes), T7 (HVAC), T8 (PM)</li>
<li>MACS 609 or equivalent mobile A/C certification</li>
</ul>

Skills:
\n
<ul>
<li>Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple systems (brake, emissions, electrical, HVAC).</li>
<li>Familiarity with repair planning and parts reuse.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and diagnostic software.</li>
<li>Clear written and verbal communication.</li>
<li>Ability to work in physically demanding environments.</li>
</ul>

Work Experience and Qualifications: 
\n
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, high temperatures, cold, humidity, and airborne particles. Regularly requires standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Work is performed primarily on second shift and may require nights/weekends.

Job DescriptionABOUT THE ROLE This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the mobile equipment fleet in a state of readiness. Performs the appropriate vehicle/mobile equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Performs required vehicle/mobile equipment repair maintenance. Informs supervisor of vehicle condition that could impact production. Prepares all required daily/weekly plant operating reports. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH 
<ul>
<li>Tests mechanical products and equipment to ensure proper performance, and compliance with manufacturer's specifications</li>
<li>Repairs and replaces damaged, worn parts</li>
<li>Operates and inspects heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects</li>
<li>Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices</li>
<li>Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools</li>
<li>Cleans, lubricates and performs routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles</li>
<li>Examines parts for damage and excessive wear, using micrometers or gauges</li>
<li>Schedules maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keeps equipment service records</li>
<li>Reads and interprets manuals, blueprints and technical drawings</li>
<li>Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems</li>
<li>Stays abreast of new technology and methodology through on-the-job training and technical schools</li>
<li>Adheres to all safety protocol to include confined space entry, lock-out-tag-out, working at heights, wearing appropriate safety glasses, gloves and other personal protective equipment, as well as all OSHA, MSHA requirement</li>
<li>Ability to work shifts as required</li>
