Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of advanced electrical systems for military and commercial aircraft as well as ground-based mission systems. This role will be responsible for developing electrical designs, supporting aircraft integration activities, and ensuring compliance with industry and military standards throughout the entire product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing aircraft electrical systems, wiring and harness assemblies, power distribution, and mission equipment installations. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams from concept through production while helping deliver innovative aerospace and defense solutions.

Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems supporting the integration of electronic equipment on military and commercial aircraft as well as ground-based systems.
  • Develop electrical design packages including system wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, harness assembly drawings, circuit breaker panels, control panels, and related engineering documentation using CAD tools.
  • Design and analyze aircraft power distribution systems, electrical load analyses, and load shedding strategies.
  • Support system requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, verification, and production activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate aircraft electrical mission equipment installations while ensuring compliance with OEM, vendor, FAA, and military requirements.
  • Verify system configurations, interface definitions, and electrical block diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including systems, mechanical, manufacturing, software, test, and program management to develop integrated design solutions.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, configuration management activities, and engineering change processes.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and help mitigate electrical design and system integration risks.
  • Monitor engineering milestones and provide technical status updates to project and program leadership.
  • Support system integration, troubleshooting, qualification testing, and aircraft installation activities.
  • Perform root cause investigations and develop corrective actions to improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), or equivalent experience where applicable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, 3 years with an advanced degree, or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience designing and integrating electrical systems for aircraft or other complex technical platforms.
  • Knowledge of aircraft electrical power distribution systems, electrical load analysis, and mission equipment integration.
  • Experience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and related engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency with electrical design tools such as AutoCAD, Capital Harness, CATIA, Microsoft Visio, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience working with electrical wiring integration systems (EWIS) and associated design practices.
  • Knowledge of AS50881, MIL-STD-1472, and applicable aerospace electrical design standards.
  • Familiarity with FAA Part 23 and Part 25 certification requirements and/or military aircraft airworthiness standards.
  • Experience supporting configuration management processes and engineering change control.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting military or commercial aircraft modification and mission system integration programs.
  • Knowledge of environmental and electromagnetic qualification standards including DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-E-7016, and MIL-STD-704.
  • Experience supporting system verification, validation, qualification testing, and aircraft installation activities.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action implementation.
  • Experience working within aerospace, defense, or military aviation environments.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one is preferred.
