Trading Assistant (Societe Generale, New York, NY)
Ensure timely and accurate capture of executed trades, including complex and exotic products, into internal systems. Monitor Straight-Through Processing (STP) flows and promptly investigate and resolve trade booking discrepancies. Collaborate with traders to verify trade details and ensure alignment with front office risk and position reporting. Oversee the full lifecycle of trades including coupon payments, rate fixings, option expiries, maturities, modifications, and cancellations. Liaise with operations and clearing teams to ensure timely processing of lifecycle events and trade amendments. Act as a key liaison between the Front Office, Back Office, Product Control, and IT teams to ensure process consistency and timely issue resolution. Ensure alignment and consistency with global Trading Support Unit (TSU) counterparts across regions. Support audit and regulatory reviews by providing accurate trade data, responding to requests, and maintaining detailed procedural documentation. Maintain rigorous control standards and ensure processes comply with internal policies and regulatory obligations. Participate in system upgrades and UAT testing to ensure trade flow and booking accuracy are maintained. Coordinate with TriOptima and internal teams to facilitate trade compressions and optimize portfolio efficiency. Provide direct, on-demand support to traders and sales personnel to address operational issues, resolve breaks, and ensure smooth execution workflows. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to SG, 245 Park Ave., New York, NY 10167. Salary: $112,778 - $130,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Trade Analyst, Financial Analyst or any occupation, job title, position supporting fixed income and derivatives desks.
Must also have the following: 5 years of professional experience with capital markets, financial instruments, and asset classes including Vanilla Interest Rate Derivatives (IRD), Total Return Swaps (TRS), Swaptions, Caps/Floors, and structured credit and rate products; 3 years of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Suite of products (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); 2 years of professional experience working with regulatory requirements related to cleared swaps and trade reporting; 2 years of professional experience utilizing MarkitWire for trade affirmation and lifecycle event processing; 2 years of professional experience with cleared swaps utilizing LCH and CME, including netting processes through TriOptima; and 2 years of professional experience with Futures and Options and their trade lifecycle.
