Highway Supervisor
The Town of Canaan has a Full-Time opening at the Highway Department for a Highway Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising, directing, and managing all technical and administrative aspects of town Highways and Streets, Solid Waste and Recycling, Cemeteries, and Buildings and Grounds.
Candidates must have a minimum 5 years’ experience with year-round administration of public works or highway maintenance and possess a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, business administration or related field; or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates competency of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position must also possess considerable knowledge of building and grounds maintenance and repair procedures. Also required is a valid CDL driver’s license and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Benefits include vacation, personal, sick and holiday paid time off. Health, dental and life insurances are offered at no cost to the employee for employee-only coverage. The Town of Canaan participates in the NH Retirement System.
Compensation is between $70,000-$80,000 depending on experience and certifications.
