Job Title: Personal Attendant Caregiver

Reports To: Care Coordinator / CEO
Location: Indiana (various client homes or facilities)
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Position Overview

The Personal Attendant Caregiver provides compassionate, person-centered care and assistance to clients in their homes or residential settings. This role is dedicated to supporting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life in accordance with individualized care plans and agency policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support.

  • Provide light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry services as needed.

  • Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.

  • Monitor and report changes in clients’ physical, emotional, or mental condition to the supervisor.

  • Assist with medication reminders as directed by care plan (no medication administration unless certified).

  • Escort clients to appointments, errands, and community activities when approved.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and observations made during visits.

  • Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures in compliance with agency standards.

  • Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for clients at all times.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).

  • Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Attendant certification (preferred but not required).

  • Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience (professional or family-based).

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if client transport is required).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist clients safely with mobility.

  • Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
