Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other technicians at the mine site to collect and deliver precise samples to the assay laboratory efficiently and accurately.
  • Assemble data and assist in problem-solving using basic engineering principles and theories.
  • Identify drill holes requiring sampling in coordination with the drilling and blasting schedule.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to obtain representative samples, ensuring proper spacing, minimum sample weight, and correct labeling.
  • Support quality control procedures by repeating sampling for duplicate locations and ensuring proper labeling and documentation for laboratory processing.
  • Transport and deliver samples promptly to the assay laboratory.
  • Prepare samples for analysis and assist with routine chemical analysis and reporting tasks as needed.
  • Provide technical support to ore control and surveying teams when required.
  • Verify that sampling and laboratory equipment are functional, clean, and operating properly.
  • Perform other related duties to support operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an engineering or technical environment relevant to mining operations.
  • Familiarity with specialized equipment, methods, and techniques such as GIS/GPS mapping.
  • Skilled in safely operating, maintaining, and repairing technical equipment.
  • Ability to identify occupational hazards and follow safety protocols diligently.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
