Overview: We are partnering with our well-funded startup client to locate a Principal-Lead SWIFT/iOS, MERN Stack Software Engineer. In this high-impact, full-time, direct hire, onsite (with some hybrid) permanent position, you will lead all software engineering (a very small team which you will mentor hands-on and grow).
What you will be doing:
• Define architecture, write production code, and take clear ownership of software decisions across the company.
• Matrix lead and mentor a firmware engineer and act as the technical authority for software.
• Manage the group as it grows, serving as primary owner for cross-functional software decisions
• Design, build, and maintain native iOS applications in Swift and MERN/GCP web interfaces
• Lead integration between software, firmware, and hardware systems
• Interface with firmware engineering as it relates to integration (this is NOT a firmware development or hardware engineering position), but experience interfacing with firmware engineering is a huge plus
What you must have:
• Significant hands-on native iOS/Swift development experience
• Experience developing MERN (or similar) web interfaces, preferably to a medical device
• Preferred, but not required: FDA regulated medical device and/or ISO 13485/62304 standards experience
• Developing iOS mobile app solutions to interface with a HW/SW device
• Experience owning software architecture for a product
• Huge pluses; GCP (AWS ok), Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline
Work Environment: The onsite office is very relaxed, shorts/flip flops, with culture fit being a huge factor in hiring. People assimilate and work well together. There will be some hybrid opportunity once acclimated.
Work Status: Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
Salary/Rate Range: Flexible and significant, plus a 15% annual bonus
