Project Engineer – Commercial & Healthcare Construction
Location: Palm Beach County
Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager
Industry: Commercial Construction – Healthcare & Commercial Projects
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the execution of commercial and healthcare construction projects. This role is essential in ensuring project documentation, coordination, and field support are handled efficiently and in compliance with industry standards and healthcare-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and managing construction activities from pre-construction through closeout.
- Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation to ensure timely responses and approvals.
- Support procurement efforts by preparing bid packages, reviewing scopes, and tracking material deliveries.
- Maintain project schedules and logs using tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify installations, and support field teams with technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare construction standards, infection control protocols (ICRA), and AHCA requirements.
- Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, and punch lists to support project closeout.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with healthcare or commercial projects.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AHCA inspections and healthcare facility protocols.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
