About This Opportunity
Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S), a dynamic and fast-growing joint venture between Raytheon and Rafael, is seeking a results-driven Supplier Quality Engineer to support the execution of major defense programs, including Iron Dome AUR production, Marine Corps Medium Range Intercept (MRIC), and future Air Defense systems.
This is a critical on-site role overseeing a key R2S supplier, where you'll be accountable for performance, quality controls, and on-time delivery. We're looking for an experienced professional with a proven 10-year track record of successful process improvement in energetic production who is ready to make an immediate impact on mission-critical programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess supplier processes through comprehensive data analysis, process audits, and product inspections
- Promote supplier performance and process improvement opportunities by providing detailed reports and briefings to suppliers, program offices, external customers, and government representatives
- Conduct thorough product inspections, identifying and recording defects as required
- Manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) including:
- Issuing SCARs with sufficient detail to define findings
- Identifying root causes in collaboration with the supplier
- Defining corrective actions and implementation plans with the supplier
- Ensuring SCAR closure through verification and validation of corrective action implementation
- Act as the customer's advocate when quality issues are detected, ensuring concerns are properly addressed
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in energetic production and manufacturing processes
- Proven expertise in performing supplier process audits
- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues at supplier sites
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing manuals
- Skilled at performing root cause analysis and developing and implementing corrective action plans
- Ability to write inspection reports, findings, and non-conformance documentation
- Accomplished at working with suppliers and communicating technical issues clearly
- Familiarity with special processes management
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM program
- Minimum 10 years of track record in process improvement within energetic production
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified ISO Auditor certification
- Advanced STEM degree, preferably in Chemistry
