Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Facilities Technician II at its Indian Oaks location in Manteno, IL. We're looking for a team player with 4 or more years of building maintenance, construction, and related skills in trades like plumbing, electrical, painting, or landscaping.
Located south of Chicago, in the small, rural community of Manteno, IL. We offer a unique homelike setting, where boys and girls aged 12-21 live, eat, exercise, and attend school on campus. Work Environment:
This role routinely uses a vehicle, standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
Schedule & Pay:
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4:00 pm
Pay: $23 per hour

Position Summary: Our Facilities Technician II maintains the appearance, structure and safety of our buildings, vehicles, and grounds, as well as performs general facility maintenance tasks. Teach maintenance and renovation skills to residents at sites where vocational training programs are in place.
Primary responsibilities:
- Maintain buildings, grounds, and systems by identifying repair needs, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to emergencies.
- Perform basic landscaping and seasonal upkeep, including snow removal and debris clearing.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on facility vehicles, track service schedules, and maintain performance logs.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment for furniture, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs; assist with installations and refinishing projects.
- Support construction and renovation efforts, including HVAC, electrical, and fire safety systems; troubleshoot and recommend solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations; stay current on required certifications and training.
- Where applicable, supervise and train residents in maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and vocational skills.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds unassisted and up to 125+ pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).
- Must be able to climb ladders, work at tall heights and crawl in tight spaces.
- Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily maintenance activities as required above.
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED plus 2 years vocational education required.
- 4 years related work experience in building maintenance, construction or an additional trade required, or an equivalent combination.
- Must possess proven skills in at least 3 of the following areas: plumbing, heating/air conditioning, woodworking, general electrical, vehicle maintenance, construction/carpentry, carpet and vinyl application.
- Must have the ability to meet Life Safety codes.
- Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges.
- Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
- Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience serving a building maintenance or facilities technician capacity.
