Under the leadership of Dr. Jason Hunt, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, we are committed to enhancing patient outcomes and elevating level of care through advanced sports medicine, injury prevention and performance. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in both clinical support and the development of our new Sports Performance Center.

Position Overview:

As a Certified Athletic Trainer at OrthoLinks, you will work closely with Dr. Jason Hunt to provide exceptional clinical care and rehabilitation services to patients while spearheading the establishment of our Sports Performance Center in Cynthiana, KY. This unique role combines hands-on clinical expertise with the opportunity to build and lead a community-focused program designed to optimize athletic performance and prevent injuries for athletes of all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support (50%):

- Collaborate with Dr. Hunt to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate patients with musculoskeletal injuries, including post-surgical cases.

- Assist with surgical cases as first assist.

- Educate patients and families on injury prevention, recovery strategies, and home exercise programs.

- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with the orthopedic team to ensure seamless care coordination.

Sports Performance Center Development (50%):

- Lead the launch of the OrthoLinks Performance Center, a hub for athletic training, performance optimization, and community outreach.

- Build partnerships with local schools, sports teams, and community organizations to promote the center’s services and foster engagement.

- Oversee facility operations, including equipment operations, program scheduling, and staff training as the center grows.

- Create and deliver workshops, clinics, and camps to educate athletes, coaches, and parents on sports performance and injury prevention.

Qualifications:

- Current certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC).

- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in Kentucky.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, preferably in a clinical or sports medicine setting. Preference given to AT-C with OTC certification and surgical experience.

- Strong knowledge of orthopedic injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and sports performance training principles.

- Experience in program development or leadership roles is a plus.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with patients, athletes, and community stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Passion for advancing sports medicine and community wellness.

SALARY negotiable and based on experience

Company DescriptionDr. Jason Hunt, a native Kentuckian, received his Bachelor’s of Science degree at the University of Pikeville. He obtained his medical degree from Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Hunt completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Bone & Joint Hospital/St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was a partner at Integrity Orthopedics in Mt Sterling, KY prior to moving to Tampa in 2014.

Dr Hunt’s practice is OrthoLinks Orthopedics. It was Tampa Bay's best orthopedic surgery practice. He offers a full spectrum of orthopedic care. This includes sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and fracture care. He is also focusing on a special program for golfers that includes orthopedics, and golf specific techniques to increase thoracic rotation. The practice has now relocated to Kentucky to provide high quality orthopedic services to rural parts of America.

Dr Hunt is respected for operative and non operative treatment of all levels of athletes. His practice philosophy is to provide a level of care that exceeds expectations and set new standards of caring in a Christ-centered fashion.
