About the role
\n
We’re looking for a creative and curious Social Media & Community Intern to help us create content and bring people together.
\n
You’ll work directly with our Marketing Lead on short videos, social media posts, and community events. We use AI tools such as Descript to support content creation, so prior video editing experience isn’t required. What matters is a basic understanding of what makes a short video engaging and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

- Use AI tools such as Descript to turn interviews, event footage, product demos, and original recordings into short videos.
- Help develop video hooks, select interesting moments, and refine pacing and captions.
- Draft and adapt posts for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, and Xiaohongshu/RedNote.
- Contribute content ideas for audiences who use English or Mandarin, drawing on relevant cultural references and social media trends.
- Help organize the content calendar, prepare posts for publication, and review audience engagement.
- Support community events through planning, promotion, attendee communication, and on-site coordination.
- Help capture event highlights and create follow-up content and recaps.

Qualifications
\n

- A basic understanding of what makes short videos engaging, including a strong opening, clear storytelling, and good pacing.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and an interest in how content connects with different audiences.
- Native-level Mandarin fluency, strong writing skills in Mandarin, and familiarity with relevant cultural references and online trends.
- Strong English writing and communication skills.
- Interest in learning AI tools for content creation. Prior experience with Descript or video editing software is welcome but not required.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
- Willingness to contribute ideas, learn from feedback, and work with a small team.

Preferred qualifications

- Based in the Bay Area and able to work on-site in Palo Alto and support local events.
- Familiarity with Xiaohongshu/RedNote.
- Experience participating in student organizations, community groups, or event planning.
- Interest in AI, startups, hiring, or career development.
