Position overview
L+C Design Consultants is seeking a Project Architect with 4–7 years of professional experience, strong construction documentation skills, and familiarity with educational or institutional projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated architectural professional to take meaningful responsibility, collaborate directly with principals, and help shape impactful K–12 educational environments. You will support multiple school projects through design and construction, receive mentorship from senior staff, and take on increased responsibility based on initiative and performance.

Key responsibilities
- Document existing conditions and prepare construction documents during design phases.
- Coordinate with consultants (MEP, etc.).
- Assist project lead with bid phase documentation and bid addenda.
- Construction administration: review and respond to submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Participate in site visits and prepare field reports.
- Maintain organized project documentation and project correspondence.
Required qualifications
- 4–7 years professional experience.
- Proficiency in construction documentation.
- Experience with public bid, educational, or institutional projects.
- Ability to work independently with regular supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel, Procore.

Employment terms: Full-time. The first 60 days serve as onboarding, with support and training, and project immersion; continued employment depends on performance, mutual expectations, and project needs.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience; reviewed regularly as responsibilities expand and performance is demonstrated.
Work environment: Our calm, open studio offers spectacular views of the Hudson River and Manhattan. We are located in a small office building with convenient private parking and nearby shopping and restaurants.
