We are seeking an experienced US Government cleared Senior Solutions Architect to join our Center of Excellence (COE) in McLean, VA. The Senior Solutions Architect in the IT Modernization Practice Area will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing, validating, and supporting large-scale networking solutions with a primary focus on Cisco routing and switching technologies. This role interacts directly with customers, internal engineering teams, OEM partners, and business development staff to shape solution strategy, support pre-sales engagements, and ensure successful deployment of modern IT architectures.
This position is ideal for an experienced, customer-focused network architect who enjoys both technical depth and strategic influence.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and support end-to-end network solutions with emphasis on Cisco core routing and switching.
- Serve as the organization’s SME for Cisco network technologies, providing guidance on modernization, security, and interoperability.
- Support sales and pre-sales efforts through solution design, whiteboarding, BoM creation, and technical presentations.
- Lead or contribute to deployment, integration, and validation of networking solutions across federal and enterprise environments.
- Participate in the development of CoE best practices, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks.
- Partner with OEMs and internal teams to stay current on product capabilities, industry trends, and modernization approaches.
- Provide escalation support and technical leadership across complex customer engagements.
- Assist with RFP/RFI responses, technical writing, and solution strategy development.
Required Skills & Experience
- Eligible for US security clearance.
- Expert-level Cisco routing and switching skills, including enterprise LAN/WAN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, multicast, QoS, and related architectures.
- CCIE or CCNP-level expertise strongly preferred (certified or equivalent experience).
- 15+ years of experience designing, selling, deploying, and integrating Cisco networking solutions.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, modernization trends, and multi-vendor integration.
- Ability to communicate complex solutions to both technical and business stakeholders, to include creation of a BOM using Cisco partner portal.
- Proven experience working with federal or large enterprise environments
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience with Juniper, HPE/Aruba, or other SD-WAN and networking vendors.
- Exposure to modern networking technologies such as ZTNA, SSE, SASE, network automation, and Zero Trust architectures.
- Familiarity with containerization, virtualization, and data center networking (ACI Fabric, VMware NSX, Nutanix, Red Hat, networking, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and solution validation skills.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, CIS/MIS, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant vendor certifications (Cisco CCIE/CCNP, Juniper, Aruba, etc.) preferred.
