Job Description
The Heavy Machinery Mechanic will work primarily with heavy trucks, construction, and mining equipment, maintaining and repairing complex mechanical and hydraulic systems. Operating within a small team of 3 members, this role requires hands-on expertise using basic diagnostic tools and manual equipment. The position involves local travel to various sites to perform preventive maintenance and repairs, ensuring machinery remains operational and safe.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair on construction and mining equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic system issues
- Conduct diagnostics using basic devices and manual tools
- Replace worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Carry out preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
- Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed
- Collaborate effectively within a small maintenance team
- Travel locally to service machinery at various sites
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy machinery maintenance
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical repair expertise
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems
- Welding skills
- Proven ability in preventive maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities
